Discover quaint flint Blakeney cottages and narrow streets, which makes Blakeney village a timeless quality location loved by visitors all year round. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the North Norfolk Coast, with its mesmerising salt marshes stretching out to Blakeney Point. The shingle spit is famous for its many seals, and we would highly recommend you take a boat trip from the Quay to see them in their natural habitat as this is a great experience for the whole family to enjoy.
Blakeney village itself has tennis courts you can hire, a children's playground, shops, pubs and eating places so you can be happy that any amenities you may need are readily available. We feel it is a great location to be in as you are literally on the coast road, so you can walk along the coastal path towards Morston, Stiffkey, Wells-next-the-Sea and onto Holkham if you’re feeling fit, then simply hop on the Coast Hopper bus to get back home.
The children can have hours of fun gillying along the quayside here – be sure to remove any hooks from crabbing lines though as they are a danger to other wildlife and your bait can be simply tied on, the crabs are very obliging and happy to be caught and released all summer long!
If you are looking for a nature reserves Blakeney again is a great base to be in as the next village along the coast is Cley-next-the-Sea home to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s oldest and most famous reserve.
