Ketteringham Hall estate is surrounded by open parkland, Lady Belt Country Park and conservation areas within this thousand acre estate creating a tranquil haven for wildlife. The Hall was once the home of Team Lotus whose Formula One raceshop was situated in the courtyard. The Orangery, which was once the Lotus drawing office, now houses the beautiful Piano Tearooms, open for coffee, lunch and afternoon tea six days a week, why not book a picnic hamper and on a sunny afternoon, during the cricket season, experience the quintessential village cricket scene.
Wymondham is the closest market town with traditional shops, pubs, an Abbey and supermarkets. Norwich also has a thriving arts culture, with theatres, museums, galleries and festivals. There is also an impressive Norman castle. Pelican Barn is also within two miles of the A11 and the A47 Norwich Southern Bypass which opens up easy access to the Norfolk coast 35 minutes away, and the Norfolk Broads.
