Mullion windows and leaded lights spark a connection with times once past, the panelled bathroom and William Morris curtains nod to the Victorian era this property came to life in, and the design and flow of the space evokes this properties connection to the adjoining much older and grander Queen Mary period house.
The large farmhouse style kitchen benefits from wrap around worktops and a large double oven nuzzled in an alcove. The red tile flooring in the kitchen adds the authentic charm, the beautiful wooden worktops mean you won’t be short of space when preparing home cooked meals, and the many kitchen cupboards ensure you have ample storage space for all your holiday treats - leaving little to be desired. The owner has created a pet friendly pad which allows two four legged friends – there’s even a cover for the sofa provided (stored in the cupboard under the stairs). The dining space is complete with seating for 6 and there’s an effortlessly cosy sofa for restful evenings spent with your feet up watching a film. The TV is tucked away neatly in the built-in storage in the lounge area.

It’s restored tastefully to its former glory and even has genuine Victorian fittings! It’s a vibrant space, perfect for relaxing in style with a roll-top, freestanding bath. This home from home sleeps 4 guests and bedrooms comprise of one bedroom with super king bed which can be configured into twin beds (please let us know preference upon booking) and one roomy king bedroom. Both bedrooms benefit from a mix of authentic sash and leaded lights windows which allow you to soak up your surroundings. Light and airy rooms mean it’s a delight whatever time of year you choose to visit.
Tastefully decorated throughout and full to the brim with charm, this really is a delightful property which will leave you picturing times once past. There are traditional pine floorboards throughout the dining/living areas and in the bedrooms to really set off the rustic charm that this property radiates. There’s even a small courtyard, part decked and part stone, with bistro table and chairs for guests to enjoy the midday sun or an evening glass of wine. It’s a great spot to relax in after a long day exploring! This is an artist owned house with yet another special touch in that the stained-glass panel pictured was made by the owner’s father, who also has windows in the local church – what a lovely local legacy!
