East and West Rudham villages flow into each other and are situated in a very pretty area of West Norfolk. East Rudham has a lovely village green with a "gastro" pub and a very popular boutique/cafe/shop in the local area. Stately homes abound with Houghton Hall and Holkham in the area. The market town of Fakenham has an excellent market on a Thursday and there is a chance to visit the auction rooms on the same day. The sandy beaches of Wells, Hunstanton and Brancaster are a short distance by car and of course there is excellent birdwatching at both Titchwell and Holme nature reserves. Burnham Market village, just 20 mins drive, offers an amazing unique shopping experience within a wealth of historic buildings.

Lovely property. Big, old, full of character (low ceilings, ouch!!), well-furnished but retaining a very friendly, homely atmosphere. This year (2nd visit, also came last year) we had pheasants in the garden and a muntjac deer.Mr Mike Dodman - 16th April 2018

We had a wonderful week in Mallard Cottage. The house was beautiful and a perfect location for exploring both the countryside and coast. The enclosed garden was perfect with 3 toddlers (the parents could actually relax!) and the decor jut perfect. We're already talking of where to stay in Norfolk next year!Mrs Felixvas - 29th June 2013
