Ormesby St-Michael is a peaceful village; part of the trinity Broads surrounded by beautiful woodland and countryside areas. The Boathouse, a spectacular country fayre pub located here, is set on the banks and is an idyllic, romantic spot to enjoy excellent food & drink whilst taking in the stunning views of the water. Further to the east, nearer the coast, is the quiet village of Ormesby St-Margaret centred round two pretty greens and home to a small number of shops and pubs along with a variety of circular walks.
With the Broads on your doorstep you won’t be stuck with things to do – naturally it is a hotspot for anglers as it is home to a large range of fish species. The area is also perfect for exploring by bike and there are a number of cycle hire establishments and cycle routes to choose from. A great day out can be had, actually exploring the miles of inland waterways, by hiring a private day boat, canoe or going on one of the bookable boat tours.
Ormesby St-Michael is also just a fifteen minute drive away from the family seaside town of Great Yarmouth, popular during the summer season, here you will find a sandy beach, two piers, amusements, the pleasure beach funfair, horse drawn carriage rides, a selection of museums, a sea life centre, crazy golf plus much much more!
