If you don’t know this part of Norfolk you are in for a treat! The Broads National Park are practically on the doorstep and one of the largest of the Broads is Hickling Broad, a haven for wildlife and looked after by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, who do tours in the summer months, it is easy to spend time away from the world along the marked trails and let the day drift away, don’t forget a picnic. The fabulous east coast beaches are also nearby and often underpopulated even in the summer months, family friendly with soft sands the beach at Sea Palling, just 5 miles away, has been given the prestigious Blue Flag safe beach award this year. Iconic coastal landmarks such as Horsey Windpump and Happisburgh Lighthouse with its candy red and white stripes should not be missed and the resident seal colony at Horsey Gap is about as close to nature as you can get; if you are here in the winter months the new pups can be seen too. A series of Quiet Lanes, that have been designated as rural roads for less traffic, abound in the area, which is great for walkers and cyclists alike and the cultural city of Norwich is worthy of a day’s outing to take in the culture, a bit of retail therapy and so much more.

We had a lovely time in the cottage. It was perfect for a week's R&R. We all had a great time exploring this part of Norfolk. The cottage had everything we needed and was really homely.

Terry A,

Thank you for having us in your lovely cottage. A real home from home. We had a great time on the beach and visiting villages on our travels.

Deborah M,

We have had a lovely break in your cottage, which is lovely, warm and comfortable. The countryside is beautiful and rich with wildlife. The Broads are magical and very peaceful.

Clare H,

From the moment we stepped inside we felt very relaxed and it has such a home from home feel. The dog treats, cake and coffee were much appreciated after a very wet and windy journey. This place is very cosy, well looked after and is well decorated. we have enjoyed the walk and the pub and the end of the road 'The Greyhound' - dog friendly, great staff, food amazing. I'm sure we will come back.

Previous Customer,

Lovely cottage with excellent furnishings and thoughtful gestures from the owners.

Miss Katie F,

We loved our stay at Valdoon, it was a beautiful holiday bungalow, a real home from home, the furnishings were extremely tasteful and very comfortable, we especially loved the beautiful garden, and sat out there as much as the weather allowed us too, it was excellent for our 2 dogs as well completely safe and secure. We can honestly say we have never been so comfortable in a holiday home. Would return.

Alison S,

A lovely property with a charming garden.
