If you don’t know this part of Norfolk you are in for a treat! The Broads National Park are practically on the doorstep and one of the largest of the Broads is Hickling Broad, a haven for wildlife and looked after by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, who do tours in the summer months, it is easy to spend time away from the world along the marked trails and let the day drift away, don’t forget a picnic. The fabulous east coast beaches are also nearby and often underpopulated even in the summer months, family friendly with soft sands the beach at Sea Palling, just 5 miles away, has been given the prestigious Blue Flag safe beach award this year. Iconic coastal landmarks such as Horsey Windpump and Happisburgh Lighthouse with its candy red and white stripes should not be missed and the resident seal colony at Horsey Gap is about as close to nature as you can get; if you are here in the winter months the new pups can be seen too. A series of Quiet Lanes, that have been designated as rural roads for less traffic, abound in the area, which is great for walkers and cyclists alike and the cultural city of Norwich is worthy of a day’s outing to take in the culture, a bit of retail therapy and so much more.

Reviews

Very comfortable bungalow with a lovely sunny garden all day .pub just up the road and hickling nature reserve to .hopefully book again for next year

Miss B,

Lovely week in Valdoon, very clean and comfortable with everything we needed at hand. Enjoyed a trip on the broads with boat hire from the nearby yard as well as some meals at the pub at the end of the road. A trip to Valdoon would not be complete without a look to Horsey Gap to see the seals. Overall the family all found this a fantastic place with something for everyone as well as it having lovely owners.

Mrs R,

Lovely cottage very well presented and immaculate, would definitely stay again, great pub in the village

Mrs T C,

Our first visit to Norfolk and we have loved every minute. We couldn't have picked anywhere better, great location, wonderful accommodation, perfectly presented and spotlessly clean, with everything you could possibly want. Like most visitors we loved the seals at Horsey beach, not to be missed and the nature reserve just down the lane was a bonus. Thankyou for everything.

Mrs Karen W,

This is the most hospitable place we have ever stayed in. Spotless and with everything you need and a beautiful garden to boot! The welcome pack was much appreciated by us and the dogs! The beaches were very clean and went for miles! Definitely a good dog walking area, the weather was kind to us too, but whatever the weather we will be returning to this memorable property, thank you we had the perfect break!
