The small village of Claxton lies between Rockland St Mary and Loddon in the Yare Valley and the Broads National Park. Surrounded by rolling countryside, quiet lanes and National Cycle Route 1, it is a super area to explore on cycles or on foot. The River Yare, Rockland Broad, Surlingham Marsh Nature Reserve, Whitlingham Country Park and Wheatfen all offer excellent opportunities for nature lovers to see wildlife such as deer and otters, winter and summer migratory birds, unusual dragonflies and butterflies. The Wherrymans Way, the long distance path which runs from Norwich to Great Yarmouth, The Suffolk Heritage Coast at Southwold and Lowestoft's blue flag sandy beach are easily accessible as is the historic cathedral city of Norwich.
We have had an amazing time in your spacious, cosy barn. Lots of beautiful walks, the Broads were better than we had imagined, the baches we visited were absolutely beautiful. Thank you for making our holiday a memorable one - it was a home away from home.
Thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Loved the wildlife and the welcoming flower arrangements. It was good to come back to the barn and relax after a hectic few weeks.
This property is set in a beautiful tranquil setting. It is a spacious comfortable but homely property. Then local wildlife is amazing and there are great local walks. We would definitely stay here again.
Lovely relaxing long weekend in your beautiful ban. The accommodation is excellent and the views at the back of the house are stunning. A deer strolled past in the evening and we saw a hare in the field. So peaceful. We would recommend it for a relaxing break.
We loved our stay here at Burtons Barn - so very peaceful and quiet. Since staying here we have seen, deer, green woodpecker, pheasants, so many species of birds and best of all we have seen a Barn Owl. We have visited many wonderful places during our stay here: Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham, Wroxham, Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens. All worth a visit. We had a lovely stay here.
We found the accommodation excellent and very comfortable and relaxing. All facilities were of a high standard and would be happy to recommend if asked.
