Sitting on the edge of the river Ant and Barton Broad, Barton Turf is a pretty village to the north east of Norwich. It is small and unspoilt and has its own staithe which gives direct access to Barton Broad. The Norfolk Broads are made up of vast stretches of water and meandering waterways which are home to an abundance of wildlife. There is no better way to see this area than from the water. There are plenty of boat yards nearby where you can hire day boats or if you prefer to stay on firm ground you can explore quiet paths and lanes on foot or bring your bicycle and roam further afield.
Wagtail cottage is a beautifully converted barn, cosy, very private, in a lovely quiet location overlooking fields. There is a private patio where you can sit and relax and watch the wildlife. The owners of the property also have a wild flower marsh walk nearby full of local wildflowers, birds and butterflies. You can wander down to Barton Broad, and the local pub has very good food and extremely friendly staff. Excellent holiday accommodation, would highly recommend.
Beautifully renovated property, very very quiet. Wonderful west facing patio overlooking fields. Extremely well fitted out, underfloor heating, ample sized shower room. Cant wait to book again.
We had a lovely break in this barn. It had everything you could want. Loved sitting on the patio watching the hares jumping in the fields and the horses in the paddock. It certainly was peaceful and relaxing. Very friendly hosts and a very nice welcome pack which was a very nice gesture. Will recommend to family and friends . The service from Norfolk cottages was excellent too.
Perfect location for a couple. Standards of comfort and cleanliness in the cottage were excellent. Welcome ‘gifts’ in the fridge much appreciated. The owners Roger and Sue are very approachable and gave us lots of additional information. Ideal base for walking in north Norfolk and the Broads. Hares and deer and pheasants put in regular appearances for our delight.A thoroughly enjoyable holiday base and experience.
Lovely converted stables, very clean, well equipped, nice view over fields (saw hares, deer and pheasants from lounge). Quite remote, small hamlet, can walk to water, very peaceful, good for walking. Very helpful and friendly owners live next door.
