Caister-on-Sea is located on the East Norfolk coast, 3 miles from Great Yarmouth. Within the village are the remains of a Roman fort and a Saxon burial ground, Great Yarmouth Racecourse and Caister Castle and its motor museum. But the wide, sandy beaches are what draw most visitors to Caister-on-Sea, stretching along a beautiful coastline from Great Yarmouth to Winterton-on-Sea. For places to dine, you’ll find within a 3 minute walk The Smokehouse Restaurant or the Centurion Family Pub & Dining. A number of Fish and Chip shops, The Kings Arms, The Ship Inn, The Gate, Castle Cavery, Branford's Restaurant & Bar and Garrods Bar & Restaurant are within the village. There are also cafes near the North and South beaches. Just 3 miles away is Great Yarmouth, a bustling resort with seaside rides, amusements and entertainment. Caister-on-Sea is an excellent base for exploring Norfolk. Further inland is the Norfolk Broads, a vast network of rivers where you can hire a boat, a canoe or paddle board or book some sailing tuition. Everyone can easily relax in the vast landscape, which is great for cycling, fishing in season, walking, wildlife and birdwatching. A little further is the fine cultural city of Norwich, for theatres, museums and shops.
