Most of the bedrooms offer Hypnos mattresses with luxurious pillow top comfort layer and anti-allergy fabric; ensuring a deep and restful night’s sleep. Within the garden, “The Log Cabin” provides another two bedrooms and a shower room which can be enjoyed by children or older members of the party wanting to escape to their own peaceful retreat. Outside you are spoilt for choice with private hot tub and comfortable seating on the decked area, sun loungers on the lawn, barbeque and garden furniture on the patio and the impressive “Beach Bar”, with bar and TV/Hi-Fi area.

Bacton is an excellent location for a seaside holiday, with a sandy beach, excellent for summer days on the sands or long walks in winter. There is a good range of local amenities including a dog friendly pub, shop, a children's playground, a local swimming pool for hire and bowling green. A traditional fish & chip shop and licensed cafés. Bacton Wood is perfect for a day out with nature whether you are on foot or cycle with three walking trails to choose from. There is plenty to discover in the area - to the north find Cromer and its iconic Pier with year-round shows, golf in Mundesley and tennis in North Walsham and to the south, find the famously striped Happisburgh lighthouse and the local seal colony at Horsey Beach; visit over the winter and you will see seal pups too. Inland, The Broads National Park with 125 miles of waterways to discover is within easy reach and the hinterland in this part of Norfolk also makes great cycling country. Culture vultures will enjoy a trip to Norwich, which is also within easy reach.
We weren't familiar with Bacton, but Old Cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the north Norfolk coast. It is beautifully appointed, newly decorated, with the extra garden buildings (accommodation and bar) plus the fantastic hot tub.. and literally minutes walk from the stunning sandy beach. We were able to visit Cromer easily, and headed up to Holcombe/Wells/Holt too. A stunning, relatively undiscovered, area with miles of beaches for families, dogs, swimming, seal watching etc! We will definitely revisit. Thank you to the thoughtful owners for sharing their property and providing the venue for our birthday get-together!
