A bright and spacious lodge set on a working farm surrounded by glorious countryside only 11 miles from the cathedral city of Norwich. Perfect for families and small groups, this dog-friendly lodge offers an attractive sitting room, an enclosed garden and easy access to a range of attractions along the North Norfolk Coast.

Beautifully furnished and bathing in natural light from numerous angles, this one-storey lodge has a contemporary rustic feel that will appeal to all ages on two and four legs. The large sitting room is a great place to chill throughout the day, with easy access to the garden via bi-fold doors. The kitchen/diner, a really welcoming space, is only a few paw prints away and is perfect for long, overly-indulgent meals. Away from this area, an en-suite king-size bedroom, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, each with its own character, can be found close to the large family bathroom. The views across the surrounding paddocks, woodland and countryside from the enclosed garden are best enjoyed with a cocktail or BBQ supper on the patio as dog-friendly children’s games are played out on the small lawn beyond.

The area between the lodge and the pretty village of Swannington (1 mile) is lined with paths and trails that lead to Alderford Common and Marriott’s Way, an 11-mile cycle path linking Aylsham to Norwich. The streets of this historic city are lined with cultural attractions, shops, cafes and dog-friendly pubs serving local fare. The lodge’s central position in Norfolk means that the coastal villages including Holt (16.5 miles), the Norfolk Broads (14 miles) and a host of nature reserves in between offer a different day out for the whole family.

Absolutely wonderful accommodation, warm, comfortable, well appointed, simply the best holiday cottage we have stayed in and so ideal for 3 generations of one family. Ian and Jo had thought about everything we could possibly need and checked in with us on our first morning. We were all sad to leave and head home - our time in Norfolk was not longRead more enough in Oak Lodge. Hide

This cottage was amazing and perfect for the needs of our family. We stayed from christmas eve for 4 nights. When we arrived we was pleasantly surprised with the christmas tree, christmas card and mince pies. Even had milk in the fridge. The cottage was also lovely and warm thanks to Ian putting on the heating for our arrival. We had everything weRead more needed to cook a christmas dinner for the 6 of us. Although we did bring foil trays to make cooking easier. Everyone said their beds were good and all 3 rooms had plenty of room to put clothes away. The family bathroom was huge and even though we brought toilet roll with us there was toilet roll in the cottage. The showers were good although 2 people showering at the same time wasnt great so everyone took it in turns instead. We had our dog with us and the garden was secure and we could take him for walks on the field which he loved. Not to far away from anything and in a very quite spot. Was nice albeit cold standing out looking at the starts in the clear sky with no light pollution. Ian was great knocked to make sure all was ok and was on hand via text when we wasnt sure where the bins were. We would go back in a heartbeat 10 out of 10 and probably the best home from home we have stayed in. Hide
