Escape to a charming 17th-century former mill house for a romantic holiday with your other half in the Norfolk countryside near the Broads National Park. Spend your evenings snuggled up on the sofa in the cheerful lounge with dual-aspect windows or pop open a bottle of bubbly in the cottage garden while dining alfresco and soaking up the rural views.

Step inside to find a comfortable and bright lounge/diner with wooden furnishings, splashes of bright colours plus a plump sofa in front of the TV. Next to this is an intimate dining table for two. Cook a romantic meal for your partner in the compact and well-organised kitchen with a convenient dishwasher. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom. Upstairs is the elegant bedroom with slanted ceilings, skylights and a double bed. Outside is a garden with a patio, lawn, pond and furniture.

During your stay in the peaceful village of Bergh Apton, you’ll be surrounded by rolling fields and quiet lanes. Just 2 miles away is the small riverside town of Loddon, which is home to a handful of restaurants, shops and a marina – from here, you can hire a boat and see the area from the water. This town borders the Broads National Park where you can hike along the scenic walking trail, watch the wildlife at Mid-Yare National Nature Reserve (14.5 miles) and visit the historic Burgh Castle Roman Fort (16 miles). Head to the traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth (18 miles) for a day at the beach and some shopping.
