Enjoy a restful Norfolk break with friends or family at this converted historical building in Roughton. This quiet village has a welcoming pub serving traditional food 0.5 miles away and is close to public transport and parks, so you can combine a traditional rural setting with easy access to the North Norfolk coast. At popular Cromer (3.5 miles) you can spend the day enjoying the sandy beach, promenade, shops and famous pier before sampling locally caught Cromer crab. The coastline provides plenty of variety for walkers, from West Runton (6 miles) and Beeston Regis (7 miles) to Trimingham (4.5 miles), Weybourne (11.5 miles) and Happisburgh (13.5 miles). West Runton and Beeston Regis Heath (5 miles) has trails through woodland and open countryside. Roughton is also a handy base for venturing further afield towards Holt, Blakeney and the Norfolk Coast National Landscape.

You’ll enter through the smart private courtyard then step into an inviting interior filled with character, including exposed beams, natural stone walls and eye-catching red brickwork in the kitchen. Almost everything is arranged on one floor, centred around the light-filled open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. Dual-aspect windows and large west-facing sliding doors draw in the sunshine and open onto lovely views at the rear. Stretch out on the huge corner sofa in front of the Smart TV, light the cosy wood burner on cooler evenings and share meals around the dining table beside the window. There are three bedrooms, including a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and WC. The twin bedroom has one single bed at ground-floor level and a second on the mezzanine level, accessed via a ladder within the room. The double and twin bedrooms share a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, children can play safely in the enclosed garden while the grown-ups settle down with a drink. Outdoor furniture provides a comfortable spot for meals in the fresh air, with panoramic views over the countryside. Private parking is available for two cars.
