Alba cottage is so relaxing and luxurious and spotlessly clean. Our stay was perfect. We stayed for a week and felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The cottage is easy to find and the self check-in is very straightforward. The private parking space is ideal as we have a large vehicle. The garden area is private and not overlooked and bacRead moreks directly onto open fields. The cottage itself is quiet and relaxing, we had everything we needed, the owners have thought of everything and more. You literally just need to bring your food as everything else is provided from loo rolls, bin bags, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, hand soap and the most lovely welcome box with local produce, teabags/coffee and milk. The bedding and towels are luxurious and high end and the shower is the best. There is even a fan provided to use during the hot weather. Its certainly the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in for our family of three, myself, husband and 14 year old son and we would love to return. We were the first guests to stay at Alba cottage and it was such a treat plus the owners made us feel right at home with all the extra touches and lovely communication throughout. During our stay we visited: Castle Acre, 7 minutes drive, to see the priory and castle ruins, the cafe does the best coffee. Houghton Hall- lovely walled gardens. Heritage train ride from Holt to Sherringham then walked the coastal walk from Sherringham to Cromer (ate crab) and got the train back to Sherringham then the heritage train back to Holt. We walked the marshes from Blakeney to Stiffkey- beautiful walk and the stiffkey stores is a must for coffee. Visited the beaches at Wells next sea and Brancaster. Norfolk lavender, lovely cheese scones. Cycled 46 miles of the Peddars way- my husband and son brought their bikes, secure bike storage is provided at the cottage. We ate at: The dabbling duck- Sunday lunch- it was okay! A nice pub for drinks. Fish and chips from the Thursday van that visits Great Massingham Upstairs at No1 Cromer - fish chowder, crab and fish and chips- the best meal with a lovely view. Stiffkey Stores- coffee and cakes Wittles- castle acre- coffee and lunch We ate mainly at the cottage as it was easy to make meals and use the fantastic facilities on offer. We wish the owners every success and we hope to return again very soon. Thank You. Hide
