In the heart of pretty Snettisham, this contemporary cottage is ideally located for exploring the North West Norfolk coastline and countryside. Pet-friendly, it features a chic open-plan social space, sleeping arrangements to suit any party of five, and a sunny courtyard garden.

A shared car park allows you to unpack at your own pace. Step through the front door and there’s a handy cloakroom off the entrance hall. Beyond, the open-plan social space combines kitchen, dining and lounge areas – the latter featuring comfortable sofas arranged before a Smart TV and a flame-effect electric heater. A modern dining suite sits beside patio doors and conveniently close to the kitchen, where you’ll find all the must-haves of home. Head upstairs when it’s time for sleep. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, TV and an en-suite shower room, while the other two bedrooms – a twin and a single room – share use of a family bathroom. Step through those patio doors from the dining area and the private courtyard garden has a BBQ, outdoor dining furniture and a summerhouse. A gate allows easy access to the car when you’re ready to explore.

Famous for its 14th-century church, selection of stores and friendly pubs, Snettisham sits a couple of miles inland of a shingle beach that looks out across The Wash and is perfect for walks and wildlife-watching – the adjacent RSPB reserve hosts an incredible display of geese when the tides are right. Follow the Norfolk Coast Path 3 miles to Heacham –home of Norfolk Lavender – or visit resort town Hunstanton (4.5 miles) for traditional seaside entertainment. Drive cross-country to well-heeled Burnham Market (12 miles) for boutique shopping and celebrity-spotting. Avocet Cottage is absolutely pristine ! The kitchen has absolutely everything that you could possibly need, is impectably presented and immaculate throughout. The location is in a very quiet setting with the only noises from the local ducks crossing the road with their ducklings and the odd 'clip clop' from horses being ridden past the cottage. Read more Very close to the Sandringham Estate and also three nearby beaches. Lovely, thoughtful touches including a much appreciated Welcome Pack. The cottage is light, airy and spacious. Local cafe a 2 minute walk away is very popular, small Co-Op and 2 pubs. Beds were very comfortable and had quality linen and generous towels. I took a chance with booking this cottage as it had no reviews, but can honestly say it is the best place I have stayed in. Hide
