Located in the pretty Victorian seaside town of Mundesley, this nautically styled cottage was once the home of the local coastguard, dating back to 1812. Having retained much of its original charm, this traditionally styled property is filled with characterful features with exposed beams, original fireplaces and sloping ceilings throughout. The local beach is accessible within just half a mile with access to the picturesque Norfolk Coast Path, making this an ideal base for exploring the coast.

Warmed by a quaint wood burner, the living room is a lovely place to relax with a selection of sofas, pastel decor and a TV for evening entertainment. The kitchen is light and bright with everything you’ll need to be able to cook up your family’s favourite meals. When it’s time to dine, the traditional dining room is elegant with an antique table and chairs seating six and natural light pouring in. The staircase leads up to the three bedrooms, starting with the double which features exposed beams, sloping ceilings and plenty of storage for all of your belongings. Bedroom two is a generously sized twin and bedroom three is a playful bunk room, ideal for children. A family bathroom completes the property. Out at the front of the property, the patio area has a picnic bench for morning coffees, whilst the rear garden offers a patio and lawn with plenty of space for garden games and al fresco dining.

For a spot of history, head to Felbrigg Hall Gardens and Estate (10 miles) which dates back to the 15th century. Here, you can stroll through the woodland, parkland and beside the lakes before exploring the main house and stopping off for a tasty treat in the cafe to make a day of it. Further inland, visit Wroxham (15 miles) and you can explore the Norfolk Broads by boat keeping your eyes peeled for rare local wildlife and historic landmarks on your adventure.

We have just had our third visit to Coastguards and we love it. Easy access to beach and shops in village, quiet, peaceful. Absolutely packed with games and toys for that rainy day. We always have a wonderful time here.

Overall the cottage is great, super location and very well equipped and comfortable. However a few things let it down. The outside patio area had not been cleaned. It was strewn with ice cream stick, kebab skewers, plastic cutlery and bits of children's toys. The rubber shower mat was covered in black mould, we wouldn't use it. The pedal bin in theRead more kitchen was filthy inside and out. Hide
