This charming cottage is located 1 mile from the popular coastal town of Holt amidst the rolling hills and open spaces of North Norfolk's renowned countryside. With a warming wood burner in the cosy lounge and a sunny garden for al fresco dining, this traditional family home is ready and waiting at any time of the year.

Enter the cottage through the side door, leading you through the utility room into the adjoining kitchen/diner, which still features the traditional butcher’s hook in the ceiling. The kitchen is well equipped for a self-catering stay, and the dining table can seat up to 5 guests. From here, head through to the inviting lounge with its original inglenook fireplace now fitted with a wood burner, perfect for winter nights in front of the TV. Also on the ground floor is a twin bedroom with single beds and a shower room. Up the cottage-style stairs, you'll find yourself in the spacious first-floor master suite, complete with a king-size bed and a bathroom. There is also a second lounge area boasting views over the river meadows. An occasional bedroom with a single bed is accessed via the master bedroom and leads to the bathroom. Outside, the cottage features delightful gardens to the front and rear. In the rear garden, relax on the south-facing enclosed lawns and breathe in the fresh country air.

Little Thornage is one of the area’s untouched locations, with the pub and water mill at Letheringsett providing the nearest amenities less than half a mile away. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the disused railway line to Holt (1.5 miles), where you can explore many independent shops, galleries and cafes, or head 4 miles to nearby Weybourne and unwind on its pebbled beach. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy Cley and Blakeney nature reserves (both within 5 miles) with the opportunity to embark on seal-watching trips from Blakeney Point.

Lovely old cottage, had a brilliant stay. Lovely welcome basket including bodywash for all, much appreciated! Beds are super comfy, very good quality linen. Downside - parking is very tricky, you need to reverse between very narrow gateposts, difficult to get the angle right as narrow lane with house opposite. Steps into the property, backdoor stepRead more not as steep as side door and high step into shower. The property is fantastic though with a lot of sun in the garden and very peaceful. Hide

What a wonderful cottage for me and my border collie. An extremely quiet road (caused by a ford completely unsuitable for cars a short distance away) ensured an almost traffic free environment yet with miles of off road dog walking within easy reach.
