Bursting with charm and character, this quaint countryside barn conversion nestled in the sleepy village of Briston is the ultimate relaxing retreat ideal for couples and families looking to reconnect with the great outdoors; plenty of scenic footpaths and coastal walks await to be explored a stone's throw from the doorstep.

Combining rustic features and contemporary touches, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner at the heart of this home-from-home boasts a truly tranquil ambience. The high vaulted ceiling creates a sense of space whilst the sumptuous soft furnishings set the scene for a restful stay, welcoming weary walking muscles to take the weight off and unwind, dine and relax with loved ones. End a busy day with a restorative soak in the claw-foot freestanding bath in the family bathroom downstairs before retiring to the crisp, white linens of the double bedroom on this level. Tucked away in the eaves, the mezzanine twin bedroom, with its characterful sloping beamed ceiling (please note, there is reduced headroom), is the perfect peaceful spot for children to rest. Outside, from sunrise to sunset, the shingle garden is an oasis of calm whilst the shared play area is the perfect spot for children to let off some steam before bedtime.

The picturesque village of Briston offers a delightful blend of countryside charm and tranquillity, home to many scenic countryside walks carving through the village alongside charming cottages and local pubs. Absolutely beautiful cottage with all the fixtures and fittings. Great private parking spaces...it really helps if you drive (or really like walking) as it's quite remote. There's what looks like a lovely little playground for children (we were either out and about or it was too wet to actually use it but it's there!). Shower is hand held, not wallRead more fitted. Really dusty under the sofa, set off allergies. Lovely kitchen appliances, really authentic country feel. Highly recommend Hide

Very well placed for what we wanted to do (mainly birdwatching sites). Good or easy food available both in Melton Constable and Holt, good supermarket in Holt. The EV charging worked well overnight, being slow.

Very comfortable beds, and sofa. Good kitchen equipment, and conveniently located for going to Holt, etc. Road noise was occasionally noticeable so earplugs if you want a lie-in.

The accommodation was excellent, there were little touches that were great, like board games and DVD's to pass time if the weather turned bad, also the stack of tourist pamphlets to give some ideas for days out were very helpful. The location was perfect to explore all over Norfolk.

Very friendly hosts who live across the yard. Good parking spaces. We charged our electric car no problem. But you need a charging cable with a three pin plug to plug into their outdoor socket. Our cable of 8m length spanned the front garden comfortably but any shorter you might need to borrow the host's extension lead. It's a great location near HRead moreolt and easy to get to the Coast and to Norwich. I'd give the cottage itself a B-. You can hear traffic on the B road, but soon get used to it. Hide
