This characterful mid-terrace cottage is a wonderful choice for couples or families, located within a picturesque village and opposite a popular farm shop. After days exploring coastal towns, historic houses and rural walks, return to this delightful home from home and relax in the garden or light a fire in its cosy lounge.

This delightful flint cottage feels like a home from home, with books on the shelves and a variety of interesting art on the walls. Step into the welcoming lounge, where you’ll find an open fire and comfortable seating, plus a TV/DVD – this is a wonderful place in which to recharge. The kitchen/diner has its own wood burner, perfect for long, lazy suppers around the table, tucking into delicious meals created in the well-equipped kitchen. Head up the cottage-style stairs to the first floor and, on the large landing, you’ll find a single futon armchair, which could be made up as a bed for an additional guest or left as a quiet seat for an hour or so with a book. Also on this level are a double and a twin bedroom, plus a family bathroom. For sipping a morning coffee alfresco or catching the evening sun, sit out in the pretty garden and enjoy a tranquil retreat.

Fascinating Walsingham has a long history of Catholic pilgrimage and is home to the ruins of two medieval monastic houses, an array of 14th and 15th-century buildings, plus tea rooms, cafes, art galleries and a museum. Less than 0.5 miles from the cottage is a stop on the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway, which runs to Wells-next-the-Sea (6 miles) through beautiful countryside. Explore Houghton Hall and the Sandringham Estate, both within 20 miles, or, for something a little different, why not have a day at Fakenham Racecourse, 5.5 miles?

An enjoyable few days were spent at this cottage which is quiet, comfortable and warm. Parking is a bit of a problem but is available up the road which means a bit of a walk, which we don't mind. Beds are comfortable. We were out during the day and on return in the evening the house was still warm despite the fact that there are storage heaters. EvRead moreen so there is adequate additional heating in the form of portable electric radiators. There's a well stocked farm shop just up the road. Hide

Beautiful, well equipped cottage in a lovely village. It is close to the start of the Walsingham to Wells railway and all the village amenities. We enjoyed visiting the coastal villages of North Norfolk from here, but also walking locally in the surrounding countryside.

This cottage is situated near the centre of the village and just a few yards from the excellent Farm Shop. It's very well equipped. The instruction books are all available which is helpful when using unfamiliar machines. We found it very quiet (we live in noisy areas!) which was lovely.
