Originally a mill house with a windmill, this enchanting Norfolk cottage is a truly unique holiday haven. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom, four-storey hideaway is situated within the tranquil village of Hindolveston, 7.5 miles from the beautiful market town of Holt, and 11.5 miles from the coast at Salthouse. With several sets of stairs, which may make it unsuitable for guests with limited mobility, it has an large unenclosed garden, table football and piano and is perfect for that group getaway. Spend time at family attractions, including the dinosaur-themed adventure park at Lenwade, 11 miles away, and the wildlife park at Pensthorpe, 7 miles from the cottage. Take a heritage steam train along the North Norfolk Railway from bustling Holt to Sheringham, 14 miles from the former mill, where you can dip in the sea, potter in the shops and enjoy fish and chips or ice-cream on the promenade.
Make your way inside to discover accommodation that marries bright, airy space with original character and charm. At ground-floor level, you have a choice of two lovely lounges to spread out into. Settle down in front of a Smart TV with soundbar and surround sound or pull the doors open to the garden in either of these on sunny days. Choose a book from the shelves, play the piano or listen to music via the sound bar in one or other. The kitchen/diner is also a fabulous space for spending quality time together. Rustle up holiday feasts in the well-equipped kitchen, with the door to the garden open to bring in a summer breeze, then take a small step down to congregate round the table. One of the lounges features a sofa bed and there is a ground-floor family wet room which may suit a guest with less mobility. Also downstairs, at the foot of the tower in the reception hall, is a football table where you can challenge each other to matches. Follow the staircase up the curved wall of the tower to discover a snug, with another Smart TV. Two of your bedrooms, a sumptuous super-king-size and a bunk bedroom, are also at this level, together with the family bathroom, where you have the choice of a bath or shower. As the tower narrows as it gets higher, a lovely double bedroom, with fabulous views, can be found on each of the two floors above.
Spill out into the garden on fine days. Keep an eye on any children in the party as this is not enclosed. Dine out in the fresh air and share a bottle of wine under the stars. There is private parking for six cars at this property.
