Beautifully converted from a former stable, this delightful getaway is a perfect retreat for couples and solo travellers enjoying a relaxing break along the beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk border. Situated within the magical 20-acre grounds of a charming adults-only site in the Waveney Valley, the gorgeously furnished, tastefully decorated property offers elegant accommodation for up to two guests. With a cosy wood burner, exposed brickwork and an opulent rolltop bath, this fabulous getaway also offers access to a swimming pool, fire pits, a treehouse and hammocks, with an array of wildlife and livestock onsite including geese, guinea fowl and deer.

The delightful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides a warm welcome, with a double-height ceiling and a lovely wood burner set in an impressive brick inglenook. The pretty lounge also has a Smart TV, sumptuous seating and a large window looking out across the grounds. A sweet dining area is to one side, and the beautifully arranged kitchen is perfect for rustling up romantic meals. The ground floor also has a stylishly tiled shower room. A staircase leads up to the inviting mezzanine level where you will find a snug king-size bed as well as an elegant free-standing rolltop bath, a Bluetooth speaker and a low sloping ceiling with light streaming in through the skylights. Outside, the secluded paddocks and woodlands offer a wealth of shared features including an outdoor pool, peaceful hammocks, a cheerful BBQ area, a sweet treehouse and cosy fire pits. Ample private parking is available.

Midway between the town of Diss and the village of Palgrave (both just a mile away), this fantastic site is within easy reach of numerous historic sites and attractions including Diss Mere, the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum, Eye Castle, Redgrave and Lopham Fen, Camel Park Oasis, and the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway, all within 16 miles.

A fantastic stay in Tack House Cottage with an incredibly welcoming host David. During a warm bank holiday weekend it was a perfect place to relax, cool off and unwind with the peaceful backdrop of the surroundings. Thanks again for such a great stay and our last minute booking!

What a fantastic holiday cottage. My husband and I booked for me to rest up in peace after a recent operation. The setting blew our minds. Gorgeous cottage in the most amazing grounds with the most adorable animals literally right in front of your window. Very special. The whole team onsite could not be more helpful and were always available.Read more The facilities in the cottage were top notch, everything you would need for a self catering getaway. Kitchen well stocked with all the utensils/pots/pans like a home from home. Bathroom facilities also lovely, nice big walk in shower on the ground floor, super roll top bath up in the bedroom, under the sky light to have a soak whilst looking at the stars, just what the Doctor ordered! Bed, kingsize, very comfortable, great quality bed linen too. Other stand out features include the log burner for those chilly evenings, under floor heating, easy access to walk to the town through the back gate. 5* +++ from us Well done guys, good job!! xx Hide

This was the most majestic place to stay. The wildlife is super friendly. The accommodation is perfect & spotless. Beautiful retreat to relax and take in the views. Will definitely book another stay.

We had the most lovely stay at Elm Vale Cottages (Tack House). The host, David, was incredibly helpful and friendly if we had any questions. He made our stay very easy. The cottage is beautifully presented and perfect for a weekend away, or even a week-long stay. The cottage is set on a farm with the deer and other animals which is so special. We hRead moreavent stayed anywhere as unique and well-designed as this before. Its also only a short walk to the shops and the town of Diss, however the cottage is totally quiet. We had a wonderful stay at this fabulous property very well presented and all needs met. Our stay was enhanced by the visits from the deer, sheep and feathered friends. We spent many a happy hour in the tree house relaxing. Our host Stephen was very welcoming and available if required.

Stayed in the Tack House. Very nicely presented. Lovely views over the grounds where you see the deer and other animals on a very regular basis. The town of Diss is a 5 min walk away so car not needed for every outing. A peaceful place to stay.

This cottage is really lovely and great for short stays. We arrived Monday and stayed for 5 nights and it was perfect. The animals are a real delight. A couple of times, we had a menagerie of different animals queuing at the door for digestive biscuits. Deer, two of which were taking them from our hand, two black sheep, several chickens and white pRead moreeacocks! It was hilarious! Often, when opening the curtains in the morning, we would be greeted by a peacocks face 3 inches from the window! It was also common to be followed by a lot of chickens when going to and from the car, all clucking. It is a real shame under 16s cannot stay as my 15-month-old granddaughter would be memorised. There are a lot of grounds to walk in, and Tesco is only a 5-minute walk away. All in all, a nice village with all the amenities you need and a lovely peaceful place to stay.
