Tucked away in a secret courtyard once used as the stable of the Pleasaunce Estate, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, this delightful coastal cottage is bursting with charm and character. Located in the picturesque seaside village of Overstrand, keen coastal explorers won’t be able to resist the call of the gloriously golden sand and wonderful cliff-top walks on your doorstep.

Your sandy surroundings won’t feel far away as hunker down on the comfy sofas in the homely lounge, complete in a quintessentially coastal colour palette with nautical touches everywhere you look. As the evening draws in, head into the stylish open-plan kitchen/diner to rustle up a hearty and enjoy your efforts seated around the dining table, sharing stories of the day’s adventures. When you can’t resist the call of bedtime, retire to either the master en-suite double bedroom or second double bedroom which both feature a soothing neutral colour that ensures a peaceful night’s rest before tomorrow’s adventure. Make the most of your beautiful surroundings by dining alfresco in the enclosed garden and catching some wonderful melting sunsets before bedtime.

The small village of Overstrand is nestled on a cliff top overlooking the fine golden sand of the beach below, boasting some of the country's most superb coastal views. While away a fine summer’s day paddling the calm waters of Overstrand Beach less than half a mile away before joining the circular coastal walk or Norfolk Coast Path to be rewarded with wonderfully scenic seaside views. An idyllic location and an excellent welcome pack! However older people with less strong leg muscles and those less mobile will find the very low and soft settees impossible to get up from. We had to improvise with cushions and pillows, even then we struggled. We would strongly recommend that you consider this fact before booking.

Very comfortable 2 bedroom cottage, very clean and lovely location some walking minutes to the beach and shop. The beds were very comfortable, WiFi perfect, parking in front of the cottage. Unfortunately the owner seams to be not interested in previous reviews: sitting and standing up from the 2 sofas is a desaster (too soft, too low, too cheap), gRead morearden furniture dirty, too less crockery in the kitchen, perfect views from the corridor into the bathroom and toilet, WiFi password not found in the house, cottage was cold inside when we arrived. Owner mentioned in his description that he hopes central heating is never needed (even in winter?), central heating control with weekly calendar had to be programed. In case all these small problems would be fixed, the cottage would be really perfect. Thank you very much for the welcome pack! Hide

The cottage is in a very good position and has all the equipment you would need. Sadly, we found both sofas extremely low to the ground and very soft.

Lovely location near the cricket ground. Do check if there is anything in the evening there though as it can be noisy. More crockery needed in the kitchen, to avoid having to put the dishwasher on after every meal. It would have been helpful if the key safe had been looked after. We were unable to access the keys, on ringing the office discovered a second key safe hidden almost on the floor behind a plant pot. On the second day the second key safe failed to operateRead more we had to use tools to open the safe. As no maintenance person appeared my husband oiled the locks with olive oil. We were disappointed not to be able to use the garden as it was untidy and the garden furniture dirty. This is a great pity as over all it is a very pretty cottage with great attention to detail inside and comfortable beds. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. This property is in a lovely location, behind the trees surrounding the beautiful cricket ground. A lovely property, one of a number from a converted stable block set within the village cricket ground. Easy access to Cromer and Sheringham as well as the historic properties of Felbrigg and Blickling (both NT). Walk to Cromer along the huge sandy beach (40 minutes). Classic British summer weather couldn't dampen our enjoyment!
