This charming and stylish property, part of the prestigious Maltings development in Letheringsett, is perfect for couples, families or friends looking for a retreat close to the beautiful Norfolk coastline. The cottage is one mile outside the pretty Georgian town of Holt, which you can explore using the Owl trail, and is only a 5-mile drive away from the coast. Letheringsett is located in the valley of the River Glaven and is famous for its mill, which is the last remaining fully working watermill in Norfolk and is open to the public.
You’ll feel instantly at home in this welcoming and tastefully presented barn conversion. The full-height windows flood the open-plan living area with light, and the original exposed beams add plenty of character. Downstairs is a lovely dining area and a lounge area with comfortable sofas to sink in while you chat or enjoy a favourite film on the Smart TV. There is a step up to the kitchen, which has everything you need to serve up a delicious meal or rustle up a picnic. Head upstairs, and you’ll find two king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room. There is also a family bathroom. Outside is an enclosed shingled courtyard with a table and chairs to the front of the property. The River Glaven runs under the Maltings development, and there is an open watercourse adjacent to the cottage where the old water wheel used to be.
The North Norfolk coast has plenty of wildlife and seabirds to discover, with Blakeney (4 miles) being the starting point for a boat trip to view the seal colonies and sea birds. From Holt station (3.5 miles), enjoy a scenic ride on the North Norfolk Railway to the seaside town of Sheringham. Alternatively, there are pretty beaches at Mundesley (18 miles) and Overstrand (13 miles), where you can build sandcastles, surf or walk along the Norfolk Coast Path.
