This wonderful property, situated in the heart of the Norfolk countryside in the sleepy village of East Rudham, is the perfect escape for couples or small families. Sleeping four guests over two bright and airy bedrooms, this cottage is ideal for those that want to explore the superb coast and country that Norfolk has to offer. Go seal spotting at Blakeney Point (20 miles) or head off down a trail at Pensthorpe Natural Park (14 miles) before heading back to base to be welcomed by homely interiors and soft lighting.

The cottage, which has a delightful traditional Norfolk winder staircase, is cosy and inviting with an open-plan style. Beamed ceilings, comfortable furniture and neutral decor in the lounge beckon you to sink into the sofa in front of the wood burner, as you watch your favourite show on the smart TV or chat about your day. Cook a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day in the contemporary kitchen and eat at the breakfast bar before going off on an adventure. Both en-suite bedrooms have a stylish, country-cottage atmosphere; taller guests might prefer the first-floor bedroom with more headroom in both the bedroom and en-suite. Outside, the secluded garden is a wonderful spot to laze in the sun and listen to the wildlife.

There are plenty of things to do in the area to keep everyone busy; visit Sandringham Estate and its museum or Castle Acre Priory (both 11 miles) for a bit of history, or let the kids run riot at Holkham Hall (13 miles) where there is a fun outdoor play area. Wells-next-the-Sea Beach (15 miles) is perfect for building sandcastles, while Brancaster Beach (13 miles) features the fascinating half-buried wreck of the SS Vina. Take the children for a ride on the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway (10.5 miles) or on a historic sea tour aboard Dunkirk veteran Lucy Lavers with Curlew Coastal Charters (14.5 miles).

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size room and 1 double room
  • 2 bathrooms - 2 en-suites with shower over bath and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, microwave and washing machine
  • Smart TV in the lounge and TV in upstairs bedroom
  • Wood burner (first basket of logs included)
  • Due to the style of the staircase, this property may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility
  • Enclosed garden and patio area with furniture provided
  • Free and abundant on-street parking on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Pub and cafe (with small shop) 300 metres, shop 2 miles, beach 12 miles

A delightful cottage in a quiet location within walk distance of a pub and delicatessen. Excellent facilities. Very cosy with having a open fireplace and staying in a cold February. Ideal for visiting attractions and coastline. We didn't want to leave the property.

Lovely old cottage full of character. Very comfortable beds and no shortage of hot water. Despite the frost and snow the cottage remained warm and cosy. The log burner was a bonus and added an authentic atmosphere to our evenings. Really good WiFi and a well equipped kitchen. My only complaint would be the TVs. Very basic and not that easy to use.Read more The main TV is connected to a dvd player via a scart lead. Really? My advice, ditch the dvd player and upgrade to a smart TV. This would make a huge difference especially as the WiFi is so good. Hide

Dale Cottage had everything you could possibly need and then some surprises! Very clean, well furnished excellent location and a garden full of Butterflies! My only criticism is a lack of precise information as to the location of the Cottage as it lies down a narrow alley behind Lemon Cottage on the roadside, this should have been mentioned on the Read morelocation details, and a discrete sign at the corner of the narrow access point would have made it so much easier to find!
