Tucked away in a peaceful Georgian village on the fringes of the Broads National Park, escape to this cosy and comfortable retreat within striking distance of the waterways, walking trails and sandy shoreline of the North Norfolk coast, perfect for couples and families looking to enjoy the great outdoors with their four-legged friends.

Offering a roaring wood burner and a soothing neutral colour palette that perfectly reflects your unspoilt surrounding scenery, the open-plan lounge/diner boasts a true warmth and a calming atmosphere that beckons you to unwind on the comfy sofa before planning tomorrow’s adventure seated around the rustic dining table. As the evening draws in, grab the wonderful local produce you’ve collected and head into the stylish contemporary kitchen to whip up a hearty feast that won’t be forgotten quickly. When you can’t resist the call of bedtime, indulge in a long soak in the bath in the bathroom before retiring to either of the two bedrooms for a peaceful slumber before tomorrow’s adventure. Catch some wonderful sunsets melting over your surroundings as you dine alfresco on the rear decking long into the evening.

The traditional rural village of Martham is located on the southern edge of the Norfolk Broads National Park, boasting some of the clearest water in the Broads; you can explore the upper reaches of the Thurne River by hiring a canoe or by casting a line at this world-famous fishing location. The call of the sea is also within striking distance; the dune-backed, family-friendly Winterton-on-Sea Beach is just under 3 miles away and forms the beginning of the Winterton Walk trail which offers breathtaking views across a national nature reserve. Venture further up the coast to Horsey Gap 4.5 miles away to spot glimpses of the resident seal colonies.

A very comfortable, clean and pleasant place to stay. Ideal for getting the bus into Winterton on Sea and beyond. We did walk one day but the first part was on a main road which wasn't great with dogs! We didn't do anything in Martham as there didn't seem to be a lot to do but as a base to get to the perfect beaches it was ideal. I would highly recRead moreommend staying here. it has everything that you need for a get away in Norfolk. Hide

Efficient online booking system. The property is very well maintained, nicely decorated and very clean. It had all home comforts, and some luxuries, a home from home stay. It is very well equipped and kitted out. In particular, great attention has been paid to the fact that dogs are welcome in the property, both front and back gardens are securRead moree and dog proof. Location is excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to other visitors. Hide
