Offering plenty of space for the whole family to retire to after exploring the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this traditional brick and flint Grade II-listed North Norfolk retreat is tucked away in a quiet spot in a rural village that’s as picturesque as the nearby coastline.

Perfectly combining charming original features with lovingly designed contemporary interiors, this characterful property boasts a wonderfully soothing atmosphere that invites you to snuggle down on the sofa beside the roaring wood burner in the cosy lounge and dine long into the evening beneath the stars in the glass-roofed dining room enjoying a locally sourced meal that’s been prepared in the farmhouse-style kitchen. As day turns to dusk, wash off sandy toes in the downstairs wet room before retiring to the bedroom on this level, or to any of the three bedrooms upstairs to be lulled into a peaceful doze by the eclectic colour palette and handmade touches. Soak up your fresh, countryside air by dining alfresco in the spectacular patio courtyard and catch some wonderful sunsets melting over your surroundings.

This cottage is in a lovely quiet village with plenty of dog walks from the door. However, when we stayed one of our dogs managed to instantly escape the garden as it is not fully enclosed and we could only let the dogs out on leads. The cottage is comfortable particularly the beds. The upstairs shower leaves a lot to be desired but the downstairRead mores one was ok. We enjoyed eating and playing games at the large dining room table. Kitchen equipment was adequate but basic. The roaring log fire is just electric without a roar! We did not get a welcome pack, just a pint of milk which was disappointing as we were there for New Year and its the first time we havent had one. However, there was a large well decorated tree which helped with the atmosphere. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk Thank you for your review. We can confirm that we will discuss this with the owner. Where a garden is advertised as enclosed, we cannot guarantee it is secure for all dogs, as the boundary may be hedging. Hide

This is an interesting update to an old building - the glazed in area between the house and what must have been the outbuildings really makes this property. Overall it is a comfortable and well equipped house. As ever we did find some issues - the lack of bedroom space, especially the downstairs bedroom, was a problem and the cot only caters foRead morer up to 86cm height toddlers - too short for our 2.5 year old grandson - should have taken our travel cot. The road the house sits on is a dead end but seems to have a lot of passing traffic, including the local Harley-Davidson expert! Never got to the bottom of that issue or why the bin men came it 05:56 on Tuesday morning which woke up our dog who then woke up the entire household. Hopefully this was a one-off. The location is excellent, within easy reach or Cromer, Overstrand, Mundesley and Bacton beaches plus some good National Trust places nearby. Managed to charge our EV up at Morrisons in Cromer, the only high rate charger in the area that happens to be missing from Zap map. An evening stroll to Overstrand on the footpath is well worth a walk after dinner. Hide

The cottage was beautiful when we eventually found it. Only one local could tell us where it was and luckily we found him in The Foundry Arms. Everything we could want except a microwave. Furnishing gorgeous and beds really comfortable. Good location for beaches

A beautiful homely cottage. Everything we needed for a perfect stay. Comfy beds and seating area and we loved eating in the bright conservatory area. A large parking space at the rear of the cottage and plenty of room on the road outside for an additional car. In a good location for exploring the area. Would highly recommend.

A lovely cottage that has been well designed and cared for by its owners. Well set up with nice decor throughout the house and we appreciated the welcome hamper containing local goods.
