Set in the quaint Suffolk hamlet of Ilketshall St Margaret, this delightful complex of properties is perfect for family get-togethers and special occasions. Set within six acres of idyllic countryside with easy access to the Heritage Coast, it’s ideal for a group break, sleeping up to 14 people across three properties and welcoming up to six dogs. Thoughtfully designed with ample space for relaxing and entertaining, and plenty of outdoor space including two hot tubs, it offers a wonderful country escape all year round.
Hand-crafted with love, each of these three properties is a timber-framed barn that’s been thoughtfully converted and furnished with a relaxed rural elegance. Sleeping six in each, the two larger properties feature spacious, open-plan living spaces with a kitchen, dining table, and lounge area set in front of an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. Each has three bedrooms spread across the ground and first floors, along with two bathrooms. The third property is tailor-made for two, a cosy first-floor retreat in a converted barn with an open-plan living area, separate bedroom and bathroom; its atmospheric sloping ceilings are not suitable for tall people. Outside, the two larger properties have a private patio with a picnic table and hot tub, while the apartment has a small balcony. If you want to dine together, there’s a large table in the garden seating 14, while a meadow and paddock offers a safe space for dogs to run and play.
Located 4 miles south of the Norfolk border, explore your surrounds on foot or by bike, or hop in the car to visit the historic market town of Bungay (5 miles) where you’ll find shops, eateries and historic buildings including the imposing castle. Go boating or try your hand at water sports on the southern Broads, or head to the east coast to explore the seaside resorts of Southwold and Lowestoft (13.5 and 16.5 miles respectively) and the beautiful beaches that run along this entire coastline.
