In the heart of The Broads National Park, this distinctive property set in the grounds of a large country house is ideal for families and friends looking for a peaceful countryside holiday close to the Norfolk coast. Dilham is a sleepy village with long walks around Honing and East Ruston, including part of the Weavers Way, a long-distance footpath from Cromer to Great Yarmouth. The North Walsham and Dilham canal also run nearby. Canoes, kayaks and paddleboards are available for hire at Wayford Bridge (3 miles).

This stylish cottage is set over two levels with a reverse-level design, with the living room on the first floor. On the ground floor, you'll find the kitchen/ dining room with all the necessary appliances to prepare memorable meals. With whitewashed walls and plenty of natural light, the kitchen/dining room is a pleasant place for socialising. Upstairs is the spacious living room with plenty of seating for relaxing and watching the Smart TV. A wood burner keeps you cosy in the cooler months. There is a family bathroom and two bedrooms - one king-size and one double. Enjoy the sunshine in the courtyard with garden furniture and another pebbled courtyard area with additional seating and a BBQ. On a clear evening, this is a wonderful place for stargazing.

There are over 125 miles of waterways and nature trails to explore in the Broads, either by boat or on foot. Hickling Broad (10.5 miles) is a real boon for birdwatching. East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens (4.5 miles) is a must-see, and history buffs can visit the Bure Valley Railway, a small-gauge steam railway that runs from Wroxham (13 miles) to the market town of Aylsham (13 miles). The beaches on the east coast are beautiful, sandy and easy to get to, and Horsey Gap (14 miles) has the added attraction of a seal colony.

Very welcoming. Keith the owner is very knowledgeable of the local area, places to eat and things to do. If you want a peaceful, restful holiday this is the perfect place nestled in a small village but only 10/20 minutes from busy towns. Would highly recommend it.

The Hayloft was the perfect base for our week in Norfolk. It is a beautifully decorated and well-equipped house and it had plenty of space for our family of four. Keith, the owner, made us feel very welcome and was on hand to help with anything we needed. Dilham is an excellent location from which to explore Norfolk, being an easy drive from the BrRead moreoads, Norwich and the coast. Hide
