Dilham is a sleepy village with long walks around Honing and East Ruston, including part of the Weavers Way, a long-distance footpath from Cromer to Great Yarmouth. The North Walsham and Dilham canal also run nearby. Canoes, kayaks and paddleboards are available for hire at Wayford Bridge (3 miles).

East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens (4.5 miles) is a must-see, and history buffs can visit the Bure Valley Railway, a small-gauge steam railway that runs from Wroxham (13 miles) to the market town of Aylsham (13 miles). The beaches on the east coast are beautiful, sandy and easy to get to, and Horsey Gap (14 miles) has the added attraction of a seal colony.
