This gorgeous rural retreat in the pretty village of Southrepps makes a fabulous romantic bolthole or base for a small family. The cottage boasts a quiet location and is perfectly placed for both days on the Broads or trips to the seaside; the popular resorts of Cromer, Overstrand, and Mundesley are all within 10 miles of the property. In the evenings, dine on the south-facing terrace or chill out with a book in the peaceful conservatory.
The cottage is full of character, with exposed beams and brickwork sitting alongside furniture and accessories that have been carefully chosen to complement the property’s original style. Unwind in the cosy lounge after a long walk, catching up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV in the glow of the roaring wood burner. From here, glass doors lead to the relaxing conservatory overlooking the garden. Completing the ground floor is the spacious country-cottage style kitchen/diner. The two elegant bedrooms are located upstairs, along with a stylish shower room. The large garden offers a tranquil haven in which to switch off, with a split-level lawn, south-facing terrace with outdoor furniture, and beautiful blossom trees offering natural shade.
For a traditional day at the seaside, head to the vibrant coastal town of Cromer (6.5 miles). The town boasts a spectacular sandy beach, as well as a pier with live entertainment, beach huts for hire, and a fabulous range of independent eateries. The Norfolk Coast Path also passes through the town, offering exhilarating walks with stunning views. Alternatively, explore by steam train, by joining the North Norfolk Railway in Sheringham (11.5 miles). The heritage steam trains chug through the unspoilt landscape to the market town of Holt, where you’ll find a wonderful collection of independent boutiques, galleries, and restaurants.
