Alternatively, grab your favourite book and head to the sunny conservatory to unwind overlooking the garden. A separate, country cottage-style kitchen provides all the equipment needed to cater for the group. The three bedrooms and family bathroom are located upstairs. Outside, relax in the enclosed garden, which has a choice of seating areas, including a decked area with outdoor furniture for al fresco dining.

Whether you fancy a spot of crabbing on the pier, a surfing lesson down on the shore, or a game of crazy golf, there are plenty of seaside activities to keep everyone entertained. In the evenings, take in a variety show at the end-of-pier theatre, or head into the town to sample fresh seafood in one of the many restaurants. The elegant market town of Holt (10 miles) makes a lovely day out, with its fabulous collection of boutiques and galleries. After a potter around the shops, soak up the peace and tranquillity of Holt Country Park, just outside the town.
