The thatched cottage enjoys a peaceful location on the edge of a wood, in the charming village of Hemblington. Sleeping four guests, the cosy cottage makes a great base for couples and small families seeking a quiet, countryside bolthole. The area is a haven for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts, with picturesque walks in the Norfolk Broads, just 2.5 miles away, and the nearby nature reserve at RSPB Strumpshaw Fen (3 miles).
The chocolate-box retreat has a beautiful blend of traditional features and contemporary home comforts, creating a cosy and characterful base for your holiday. Enter the property into the inviting lounge, with its beamed ceiling, plush seating, and original fireplace housing a warming wood burner. From here, head through to the kitchen/diner, where you’ll find everything needed to rustle up tasty meals for the group, to enjoy together at the wooden dining table. A stylish shower room completes the ground floor. Upstairs, two cosy bedrooms are set in the eaves, under a fabulous beamed ceiling (please note, these rooms have restricted head height in some areas). Outside, soak up the sunshine on the south-facing patio, which boasts comfortable outdoor seating. There’s also a fully enclosed lawn that’s ideal for children and four-pawed guests.
The twin villages of Wroxham and Hoveton are 6 miles away and, collectively, are known as the capital of the Broads. Hire a boat here or hop on a cruise to explore the ancient network of waterways. The villages have an excellent array of independent eateries, many with waterside views. The cottage is also within easy reach of the coast. For a relaxing day at the seaside, head to the unspoilt fishing village of Winterton-on-Sea (15.5 miles), where you’ll find a sandy beach, dramatic coast path, pretty thatched cottages, and cosy village pub.
