Bursting with character and rustic charm, this quirky retreat in rural Norfolk awaits for a family holiday or trip among friends. It’s a mile from the sleepy village of East Somerton, and has a pub and shop within 1 mile, too. While away afternoons on the peaceful sandy beach at Winterton-on-Sea, or head to Ormesby Broad, 4.5 miles away, you can join the extensive Norfolk Broads waterway and discover this area of natural beauty on foot or by boat. The two-bedroom converted dairy sleeps up to four guests, with one dog welcome to join in the fun, and extra sleeping options are available should you need them.

You’ll notice the building’s unusual appearance as soon as you arrive, with its curved brick exterior and thatched roof. Inside, impressive vaulted ceilings, exposed brickwork and attractive ceiling beams continue the appeal. The colourfully decorated lounge is a wonderful place to kick back with a glass of wine in the evenings, perhaps popping on the Smart TV for some entertainment. Cook up yummy holiday meals in the country kitchen, which contains a circular dining table for eating altogether. The garden is a great place to spend quality time together in warm weather, with a side patio, a spacious lawn for children and dogs to play, and plenty of furniture so you can dine alfresco.

The ancient ruins of St Mary's Church (1.5), nestled in a wooded grove, will delight history lovers in your party. If you’re wildlife lovers, take your binoculars to the Winterton Dunes National Nature Reserve (2 miles), where you may spot terns, natterjack toads and seal colonies as you explore this unspoilt setting. Holidaying with children? A trip to the BeWILDerwood adventure park (11.5 miles) is bound to be popular.

The setting is beautiful looking over the beautiful fens with huge skies. The building is so interesting with its thatched roof. The interiors are spacious, beautifully furnished and finished to a very high spec. The underfloor heating made it snug and comfortable. Its very easy to access the lovely beaches and we were close to 100s of seals at HorRead moresey beach. Hide

This is a delightful place to stay! It is exceptionally comfortable and well equipped and extremely quiet and tranquil. It does require a car to get to the nearest village and beach, but then they are only 5-8 mins away. There is a really generous garden area which is well enclosed for dogs.

An exquisitely tasteful spacious renovated thatched dairy barn conversion in a lovely, quiet, rural spot. The beautiful beaches at Winterton and Horsey were a delight to walk our dog off lead to passing fields, gorgeous dunes and seal colonies. What a find. We cant wait to return.

We absolutely loved this Cottage, we were met by the owners, shown around, they were extremely helpful. The Decor, was lovely, the Wild Boar head may not be to everyone's liking, but as it was part of the family home we saw no issue. Room sizes were great, with what we call the Master bedroom was huge, both bedrooms had wet rooms, all facilities wRead moree great, we were provided with a lovely home made cake, milk, etc. Plenty of parking, no real issue in finding the place once we found the lane. We would like to add that this was one of the best places we have stayed in, thank you so much, it really made our break special, Kind regards Stuart and Julie Waterman. Hide
