At a glance

  • Welcoming, single-storey hideaway in the heart of fashionable Burnham Market
  • Ideal for a romantic retreat, especially for those wishing to bring a four-legged friend
  • Perfect for those eager to go walking or bird-watching on the North Norfolk coast

Property code: OC-2193

This pretty bolthole in the unique 17th-century market town of Burnham is ideal for a couple looking for a quiet holiday with easy access to the Norfolk coast. Burnham Market has many boutique shops, delis and fine eateries, so it is an ideal foodie destination. If you want to explore the coast and leave the car behind, you can catch the regular coastal bus service to explore and walk part or all (over a few days) of the coastal path or visit the many popular seaside towns along the coastal route. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is close to many walks and sandy beaches.

This lovely property is set over one level with soothing tones and a coastal theme. The open-plan living and dining area has a comfortable sofa and armchair, a TV for the evening’s entertainment, and a flame effect electric fire for the cooler months. The living area is lovely to snuggle up in after a busy day of adventure. The contemporary kitchen has all the appliances needed to create romantic meals. When it is time to retire head to the double bedroom with French doors leading to a south-facing patio. A bathroom with a shower and WC complete the offer. Head outside, and you’ll find a small rear patio with seating overlooking the owner’s large garden with open countryside and a small fenced gravelled area at the front with a bistro set to enjoy a morning brew.

There are two wonderful beaches within easy reach, Holkham (5.5 miles) and Brancaster (7.5 miles). When the tide goes out at Holkham, it leaves behind glorious stretches of sand backed by dunes and pine woods. Brancaster has a wonderful Links golf course, but you must check the tide times and watch out for the incoming tide! Sailing courses are available at Brancaster, and the beaches at Brancaster and Heacham (12 miles) are great for sand surfing and kite flying.

Really loved this property. Ideal for the coastal buses. In a week, we used it everyday we walked, that is 6 days out of 7. Very well equipped. The shower was so good, I could have stayed in it all day.

Great cottage and the welcome pack is a great touch. The property is always very clean and tidy. This was our second stay and for us a lovely village and close enough for trips to Wells, Sheringham and Cromer not far away. We don't think you can beat this cottage with the ample parking and quiet location, superb.

A small and compact property and very clean. The welcome pack was a nice touch and the owner was a lovely host. Burnham Market shops and eateries were only a short walk from the property and it is a great location to explore the coast. All in all a very enjoyable week in a great little property.

Excellent. Very central for many attractions, only short distances to travel. Lovely place to stay for just a couple, there are not many one bedroom places available. Very peaceful and relaxing. Loved our break. Not far from several beaches.

The Annexe is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It has all that you need for a holiday. The view over the owners garden is lovely and the seating area at the back of the house is great for enjoying the sunshine. The owner, Joy and her dog Tally are very friendly. We really enjoyed the goodies in the welcome pack

The cottage was in a great location, only a short walk into the village shops. As for the accommodation we could not fault anything. The owner Joy even left a welcome tray for us and some biscuit treats for our dog. Joy could not have made our stay any more enjoyable, couldn't recommend this cottage highly enough. A superb stay for us and our dog.

A small but really excellent property. Everything was too hand and switches labelled, which was helpful. An adequate supply of crockery, knives and forks. Lovely view from the bedroom of a large lawn with plenty of shrubs. We had several visits from Tally, the owners Beagle. Lovely friendly dog. Although our visit was a short one we soon felt at hoRead moreme. The property is just a short walk from Burnham Market. An easy drive to Wells or Hunstanton. The owner, Joy, was pleasant and friendly. No hesitation in recommending this property. Great place to stay. Hide

Nice neutral place to stay. Very clean and everything we could need. Outside area very small but adequate. Host was a lovely lady who was very helpful and accommodating. Lovely and quiet too considering how busy the village was. Quite expensive for a 3 night stay. The extras for the dog and insurance added quite a bit to the cost.
