Escape the day-to-day and unwind in this pretty cottage just for two, where you can enjoy the blaze of the multi-fuel burner on a winter’s evening or a meal in the garden on a summer’s day. It’s set in the historic village of Worstead, 100m from a good pub, and perfectly positioned for accessing the area’s main attractions, from sandy beaches to stately homes.
The charming, olde-worlde style of this bijou cottage is sure to make you feel welcome. The open-plan lounge diner is light yet cosy, with a comfortable sofa, a Smart TV and an antique armchair by the multi-fuel burner: just the place for curling up with a good book, or catching up on a favourite TV show. The sweet kitchen has excellent cooking facilities and is complemented by a pantry containing a fridge/freezer. Head up to the first floor and you’ll find the double bedroom, a gorgeous room which has an ornamental fireplace, a beautiful metal bed and views of the surrounding fields. The spacious shower room is also on this floor. As for outside space, the small courtyard outside is perfect for a sundowner or an al fresco meal while planning your next few outings.
Worstead is 8 miles from the Georgian town of Aylsham and, just a mile beyond, is the National Trust’s Blickling Hall, the former home of Anne Boleyn, with beautiful gardens and grounds. From Aylsham you could also venture to The Broads via the Bure Valley Railway, a steam train ride that takes you directly into Wroxham. From here there are more than 125 miles of waterways to explore, nature trails to walk and pretty villages to discover. The lively seaside town of Cromer is only 12 miles, and the vibrant city of Norwich is 14 miles.
