This peaceful bolthole is located in Whinburgh, central to many of Norfolk’s attractions, including walks and cycle trails, the Broads, seaside towns and historic houses. Comfortable and tastefully styled, it has a wood burner for winter cosiness and a garden for al fresco meals in warmer weather - an ideal, all-year-round destination for couples and small families, plus a furry friend.
Set within the owner’s grounds, this tranquil holiday home is surrounded by roses and feels like country living at its best. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a lovely space with French doors, comfortable leather sofas and a Smart TV. Two steps up lead to the brick-walled kitchen/area, with two bar areas with stools for dining. An ornate French wood-burner provides additional cosiness in cooler weather. Two delightful bedrooms are on the first floor, a king-size and a twin, both with sloping ceilings, and they share a charming bathroom with a shower over the bath. Offering a space to share a drink or dine outside, the lawned garden has a wooden dining set with a parasol, while you also have access to a boules court within the owner’s garden.
From Whinburgh the market towns of Dereham and Wymondham, both with a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs, are just 3 miles and 9 miles respectively. Take a day trip to picturesque Holt, 22 miles, which has an array of independent shops and fabulous places to eat and drink, and about a mile from the town centre you can catch a stream train which takes you along the Poppy Line to the Victorian resort of Sheringham. Holkham, 26 miles, is another great place to visit, with an 18th century stately home, beach and parkland. The sandy beach at popular Wells-next-the-Sea is 26.5 miles.
