As advertised the stairs were a bit difficult for the older person.

Penny Cottage was an absolute joy to stay in. Very large double bed was really comfy & we had everything we needed. Transport from village to coastal areas is very good using the local transport. Nice friendly local pub & hotel with good food.

Cottage perfectly acceptable apart from ridiculous, and in my opinion potentially dangerous stairway to the mezzanine bedroom.

Good location with access to beaches, towns and attractions. Sweet little cottage with all the basics by way of equipment. Br warned, however, the stairs are lethal. Steep "paddle" stairs that will give problems to even the fittest. Fine for going up and down carefully, not great getting down to the bathroom in the night and positively dangerous whRead moreen moving luggage up and down. Hide

Penny cottage is lovely, everything we needed was there. Paddle stairs a bit of a challenge at first and took some getting used to. The location of the cottage was excellent, most places we visited were not more than 15mins away. We will certainly visit again.

The cottage was excellent and we enjoyed our stay there. Being close to so many different places of interest within short driving distance was also a bonus. The only difficulty we found was your modern staircase and this was due to our slight infirmity and not your fault.

A cute cottage, ideally positioned for visiting the local area. Be aware that the parking is tight. If all cottages, on the courtyard, are occupied an inexperienced driver might struggle to manoeuvre. Also, be aware of the PADDLE stairs. They are very steep and each step is only half the width of the staircase (alternate sides). This was particularRead morely tricky to navigate with luggage etc. and also during the night when visiting the downstairs bathroom. Hide

I missed the paddle stairs when choosing the place but we managed. It's a great quirky little place and we found it ideal for touring and walking and exploring. The log burner was a lovely touch and the welcome pack generous.
