Escape to the Norfolk countryside for a tranquil retreat in this single-storey two-bedroom lodge set on 6 acres of the owners’ grounds, with three large ponds. Enjoy relaxing evenings in the bright and homely lounge or dining alfresco on the patio after discovering the nearby English Heritage sites, forests and family attractions – or a little bit further away is the Norfolk coast.
Make yourself at home in the open-plan living space with warm neutral tones and plenty of natural light streaming in through the French doors. The ‘L’-shaped kitchen has shaker-style cabinets and plenty of space for some home cooking. Dine together at the round wooden table with chairs in the evening before sinking into the cushioned sofa and armchair in front of the TV. There is also a convenient utility room, a family wet room, and two bedrooms – a double and a single with a 4ft bed. Outside is a patio with furniture overlooking the 6 acres of land which you can explore.
During your stay in the picturesque village of Old Buckenham, you’ll have a small shop, a couple of pubs, and one of the largest village greens in Britain, spanning 40 acres, on your doorstep (within 1.5 miles). Explore the surrounding traditional Norfolk market towns – like Attleborough (2.5 miles) and Wymondham (8.5 miles). Take a picnic to Thetford Forest (11 miles) and follow the walking trails through the trees or test your archery skills. Further afield you can find the beaches of Southwold (35.5 miles) and Kessingland (38 miles).
