Set on a quiet, unmade road in the seaside hamlet of North Gap, this light and airy bungalow makes a wonderful coastal bolthole for up to six guests and two dogs. Located between the resorts of Happisburgh and Sea Palling, and just 0.5 miles from Eccles-on-Sea, it’s perfect for a tranquil getaway or a family-friendly break. With a long, sandy beach just over the dunes and the coastal path stretching out in either direction, it’s a great choice for walkers and dog owners.

Attractive and welcoming with large picture windows to make the most of the views, this stylish bungalow is bright and spacious throughout. With windows on three sides, the highlight of this charming abode is the lounge/kitchen/dining room, which boasts uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside. The kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, well equipped and perfectly arranged so you can keep an eye on the kids and dogs while cooking. Gather at the family dining table to eat, or dine alfresco in warm weather on the outside decking. Then put your feet up in the cosy lounge to chat about your day or watch a film on TV. Guests have the choice of a double bedroom, a twin room, or a room with bunk beds for two, ensuring a restful night’s sleep for all. A family bathroom completes the accommodation, while outside there’s an enclosed garden along with a shed for bike storage.

Eccles-on-Sea has a fascinating history, with much of the original village swallowed by the sea. Today it’s a peaceful spot with the wonderful beach its main attraction. There’s plenty to do in the area, including the magical BeWILDerwood (12 miles) and East Ruston Old Vicarage Garden (5.5 miles). To explore the Broads, visit Hickling Broad (9 miles) and the Museum of the Broads at Stalham (5 miles).

Just returned from a lovely Family Holiday at Happidays. The weather was great so there was a lot of outdoor living. Loads of space in the garden for cricket and football and generally lounging about. We were 3 generations (inc a 7 year old and 4 year old). More or less immediate access to the gorgeous beach. Plenty of space inside the cottage. Read more Judy was a very helpful and friendly owner. No Wi-Fi - but not missed - in fact some might say a benefit. Would be very happy to stay again. Hide

Lovely cottage. Perfect getaway - lovely private entrance to the sand dunes and the beach access is only down to the next cottage. Be prepared to be adaptable - hot water in kitchen is a mere trickle - boil the kettle. The shower has low water pressure - you cant have a quick shower! The single track approach road is very narrow with troughs and ruts. The TV is too small for the lounge. The decking has seen better days. Despite the above, we have stayed here 5 times, anRead mored will return, the quiet location, closeness to the beach and secure garden for our dogs is incredible. Stalham (the nearest town) has everything you need supermarkets (who deliver) chemist, takeaways (some deliver) and many other shops. The owner (who you might meet) is delightful and very accommodating. Hide

Fairly basic but comfortable holiday let, well situated for access to the beach and with a lovely open view to the front. The access road was a bit nerve-wracking on arrival, but got easier with use.
