Enjoy waterside walks, fishing, sailing and trips to the seaside from this lovely holiday home in the Norfolk Broads. A cleverly refurbished former barn, it has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, making it a perfect choice for couples, friends and families, with a sunny, dog-friendly courtyard, too.
Light and spacious, the living area is a well-designed space in which to relax and let that holiday feeling wash over you. The U-shaped kitchen has all the cooking equipment you’ll need and, being open-plan to the dining table and lounge area, it’s a sociable space for the cook, too. At the far end, there’s a range of comfortable seating, a TV, DVD and French doors that open onto the private courtyard. On warm days, why not open them up and enjoy the fresh air and the link to the outdoors? There’s also a king-size bedroom and a shower room on the ground floor, while upstairs is a twin room and a bathroom. Both bedrooms have ample clothes storage. For morning coffee, pre-supper drinks and al fresco meals, you have a fully enclosed, walled and paved courtyard, equipped with a bistro table and chairs.
The cottage is set within the peaceful village of Upton, on the banks of the River Bure. The village boasts a fabulous community-owned pub serving delicious meals, as well as a community shop selling seasonal produce. There are more facilities 2 miles away in Acle. For scenic walks and fishing, Upton Broad and Marshes is just 1 mile – it’s home to some of Norfolk’s rarest wildlife, including more than 20 species of dragonfly! Sailing yachts are available for hire from Upton Staithe, less than 0.5 miles away, and if you fancy a day at the beach, Great Yarmouth is just 11 miles.
