Tucked away on a no-through lane on the outskirts of the rural village of Sedgeford, this inviting cottage sits on the Peddars Way, a long distance footpath that follows the route of an old Roman road. Providing ample accommodation for up to five guests, this light and roomy accommodation is ideal for families or groups of friends in search of a peaceful hideaway within easy reach of the attractions of the North Norfolk coast. And with a multitude of walks on your doorstep, your dogs will love it, too.

Sympathetically renovated to blend original cottage features with contemporary style, this beautiful property has a cosy and welcoming feel throughout. Curl up on the sofa after a country walk in the lounge next to a roaring wood burner. Open the patio doors and wander out to the enclosed back garden, which features a tranquil seating area with far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside. Or cook up a storm in the kitchen and gather for a dinner party or family mealtime in the spacious dinning room. Then head upstairs for a restful night’s sleep in one of three elegant bedrooms.

Step out from your front door and walk part of the Peddars Way, inland back to Castle Acre (17 miles) or north to Hunstanton (4.5 miles), where it picks up the Norfolk Coastal Path. Hunstanton and neighbouring Heacham (3.5 miles) both offer beaches, seaside entertainment, shops and restaurants, as well as the Norfolk Lavender farm, which has 100 acres of lavender fields, a gift shop, farm shop, restaurant and small animal farm on site. Hunstanton marks the start of a superb stretch of coastline, filled with nature reserves, gastro pubs and wonderful walks.

The property was very dirty with pet hair and stains on what was supposed to be clean bedlinen. The pillows were stained badly due to lack of pillow protectors. Stair bannisters were greasy and sticky with dirt as were kitchen cupboard handles. Carpets were frayed at the edges and there looked to be black mould in the en suite shower. Outside the gRead morearden had broken furniture, dirty bbqs and gravel areas were full of weeds. Overall the property was very shabby with scuffed and scraped paintwork in most areas. the owner, when I had to call her, stated the property was being taken off the rental market - probably for the best but I do wonder if this explains the apparent lack of effort to maintain the property. Cleaners went in late on day 2 of our stay and attempted to clean some of the property but I had to point out that they had placed clean bedlinen on what they were supposed to be replacing from the main bedroom bed. they completely missed the dirt on the stair bannister - not sure how, it was very obvious. If cleaners do not know what clean means then maybe not the best job for them. Hide

Cottage is comfortable and well equipped. The large garden was nice to sit in and our dogs enjoyed it. Barbecue was good to use. We enjoyed walking the adjacent Peddars way past the farmers fields. Local pub was very welcoming. Have enjoyed our visits here.

Quiet, peaceful, secluded garden. My dogs enjoyed the private garden. The cottage was quirky in a nice way.

Comfortable cottage on the edge of a nice village. Lovely big garden. Next to Peddars Way which leads to the coast. Was nice to take our dogs for a walk along its path to walk by nearby farmers fields. Good pub hotel nearby which had a good restaurant. Close to Heacham, Hunstanton, Holmes, Brancaster beaches.

Lovely cottage at edge of Sedgeford. more spacious than expected. Comfortable lounge. Nice main bedroom and en-suite. Other bedrooms looked fine. Lovely long garden with sunny and shady spots to sit in. Lots of seating and two sun loungers we used. Good barbecue to use and it was nice to eat outside. Were three. Had lovely weather most of our wRead moreeek staying. Enjoyed walking adjacent Peddars Way with our dogs along the side of fields. Seeing wildlife most evenings. Very nice cottage in a great location for north Norfolk beaches and walks along the Peddars way. Good facilities at the cottage and plenty of space for large groups. Very nice enclosed and private garden ideal for dogs. Owner was very helpful resolving a minor issue with the wifi on arrival.
