It’s located in private grounds on a historical farming estate, with oodles of space inside and out including a delightful garden. The property is 2 miles from the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, containing glorious beaches and mile upon mile of pretty routes to discover by foot, bike or car. With its generous dimensions and six bedrooms, this holiday home is ideal for a trip with extended family or a celebration among friends, with two canine friends welcome to join you.

It’s got large sliding glass doors all along one side and an appealing vaulted ceiling propped up by wooden beams. The large table is ready for those convivial group meals and there’s plenty of sofa space for lounging. As for bedrooms, there’s a king-size on the ground floor and the rest are on the first floor. Outside, a glorious haven awaits, complete with a huge lawn and two paved terraces with furniture – lovely for BBQs and fresh-air dining.

The property is within a sleepy hamlet located 1 mile from Aldborough, a traditional village with a green and a local pub. During your stay, venture to the Georgian market town of Holt (8.5 miles) and wander around the art galleries, antique stores and bookshops, before jumping on the steam railway for a memorable ride through the countryside. Cromer (6 miles) is a wonderful option for a day out – this lively seaside town has a Grade II-listed pier with a theatre at the end, a great museum and a golf course. Or, for a watery adventure, head to Morston Quay (15 miles) and embark on a seal-spotting trip to Blakeley Point.

This was an exceptional holiday for the whole extended family. Of course the excellent weather helped. On arrival there was an immediate experience of open spaces and a natural quiet. The abundance of local wildlife including bats, deer and a barn owl was a further plus. Definitely on the shortlist for next year.
