Set in a tranquil spot in the Glaven Valley, this wonderful holiday home boasts 3 acres of land to explore with its own meadow with a stream, pond, and campfire, as well as traditional features throughout the interior. Ideal for groups of eight friends or families seeking peace and quiet in the Norfolk countryside.

Enter this pretty red brick cottage and leave your walking boots and coats in the hallway. Enjoy cooking meals for all the group in the spacious and well-equipped kitchen, before eating together at the dining table in the lounge/diner. Get cosy in front of the smart TV and open fire, and warm up after a busy day exploring. A snug on this floor can also be used as a bedroom for the children with a small stackable bed, and a Jack and Jill bathroom. When you are ready for some well-deserved sleep, head upstairs to the first floor where there are three bedrooms, two king-size, and a third bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. A family shower room completes the interior. The outside space is the real jewel in the crown here, with plenty of space to enjoy playing, exploring, or relaxing. The private meadow is a haven for wildlife, while the patio terrace has seating, a BBQ, and a garden wood burner.

The small village of Gunthorpe is a lovely and peaceful area to enjoy some quiet. The coast is not far away at all with stone beaches at Cley and Salthouse. Salthouse also has the beautiful dog friendly pub - The Dun Cow this is a fabulous local favourite with uninterrupted views over the salt marshes. Slightly further afield you can find sandy beaches as Wells Next To The Sea and Holkham. Wells is the perfect place for a day out as friends or with the family, offering many fish and ship shops, arcades, cafes and restaurants and boutique shops and most importantly the beautiful sandy beach which stretches for miles. Blakeney and Morston also host seal trips from the quay where you can see the seals and their pups in thousands at Blakeney Point.

Just 6 miles away is the pretty, bustling market town of Holt, this town offers an array of eateries, cafes, art galleries and antique shops and the North Norfolk Steam Railway, or explore the many trails on foot and bike in Holt Country Park set among 100 acres of woodland. and for traditional seaside family fun, Cromer offers amusements, crazy golf, Amazona Zoo and a great choice of seafood restaurants many serving locally caught fresh seafood including the famous Cromer Crab. 

All year round the surrounding areas are perfect for keen bird watches, springtime brings the migrating birds, spring flowers and the striking fields of yellow gorse up on Kelling Heath. Autumn is a birders’ paradise with more migrating birds with fantastic bird watching sites at Cley, Sheringham Park, Titchwell, Stiffkey and Snettisham.

Fantastic stay we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on our trip to North Norfolk. The beaches were wonderful although the weather was a little wet and windy at times! We fully recommend the Dun Cow, a pub in Salthouse, the staff were lovely and the food was delicious. Beautiful cottage in a peaceful village. If you can tear yourself away from the lovely house and gardens, a short drive takes you to the coast. We loved exploring the sheep meadow! The beds are super-comfy, the welcome pack is full of lovely treats and the views are just wonderful. Highly recommended.

We've had a wonderful time here in Clare Cottage. Close to where we were married in 1978! (letheringsett) A lovely trip down memory lane, here with our daughter and family and grand children, even elderly mum! So an age range of 2 - 92. it has been perfect and we hope to return.

I love the rope swing because it is so fast! and had my cousins round and we had so much fun on it! My cousins stayed for 3 days and i stayed for 7 days! i played with my cousins in the garden alot, it was really nice.

Clare Cottage is a lovely house in a very attractive village, and with a great garden for children to run around in, or for ancient grandfather to watch birds in the early morning. This will be our 3rd year in a row at the cottage. We love it so much there! Our two children refer to it as the 'picnic house' ! There were lambs in the field last year which our eldest (now 5) absolutely loved.

This was an excellent property for our party of 5 adults, 3 children including a baby, and a dog. The property was really well equipped, the garden was absolutely fantastic, and the information in the Clare Cottage bible was extremely useful, so we were able to get the most out of this beautiful area of North Norfolk.

The weather has been very kind to us on this stay and we have really made the most of it. Cant fault Clare Cottage at all, we all really loved staying here and enjoyed the local town of Holt and had a fabulous breakfast at Back to the Garden which is 5 minutes away if that.

Thank you very much we had a lovely stay here, and the house had everything and more than we needed. Its in a great location which is very quiet all day and all night. The weather was fabulous so we got to enjoy the marvellous gardens that come with the house. Was beautiful looking out to the church over the field every morning.

The cottage was amazing, it felt huge. Considering we were a party of 8, the property felt really spacious. The lounge was big, with plenty of space to sit around the gorgeous log fire and the dining table sat all 8 of us which was fabulous. There was also a play room and a huge utility area. The grounds made for a perfect Easter Egg hunt on EasterRead more Sunday morning. the children loved it because they could run around. The south of the garden was perfect for our games of Croquet. Such a peaceful week we have spent here. Couldnt have wanted a better base for our visit back to England for 2 weeks. We have missed England dearly and visited all our old stomping grounds on the coast such as, Langham, Stiffkey, Morston and Wells next to the sea. Had a fantastic half term break in Clare Cottage. The owners have thought of everything and we cant fault the house and facilities at all! Clare cottage is a wonderful home for all! We couldn't have asked for more. The time we spent here as a family has been very precious and memorable to us.
