What a lovely place, we were not sure what to expect, but we absolutely loved it, it had everything we needed, and a small garden which was fine for our two little dogs. it was only a couple of metres from the front door to the garden entrance and this was not a problem. Very comfy bed. Lovely walk around the village and very quiet country lanes. pRead moreeople were all very friendly, in fact, it seemed a really nice community in the village. The location was so peaceful and private, we had beautiful weather too. If it was available to rent, we would definitely book again, we had a really enjoyable holiday. Hide

Sadly I have to agree in several ways with Jan's April 2024 review. On the plus side the Chapel is clean & warm. Unfortunately, having booked before Jan posted, I did not have the benefit of reading her review until the week before our holiday was due to start. Her review immediately concerned me, as we had paid extra to take our 2 dogs with us & Read morenowhere in the advert description had it advised that there is only one access at the front of the property & no direct access into the 'courtyard garden'. As our dogs (& ourselves) are used to the ease of direct access to an enclosed garden, I was obviously worried. I rang Cottages.com asking them to confirm if the review was true in this respect. They confirmed that there was no direct access to a garden. I pointed out that had this been made clear in the advert then I would not have booked the Chapel. I asked if we could change the booking to a more suitable property for ourselves & our dogs, but was told that they saw no reason for us to change our booking & they would do nothing further. A very frustrating & disappointing response. The time we spent in the Chapel was therefore not as relaxing as we'd expected when we booked the property. We couldn't simply let the dogs out into the garden when we got up, when we spent time there during the day or before we went to bed. The country lane in front of the Chapel is narrow & quite busy with fast moving vehicles & so walking the dogs wasn't relaxing either; especially at night. In the 'garden' the very large shrubs are overgrown with one completely dead, leaving not much space to manoeuvre around & the pond has not been maintained. The garden furniture consists of a rather uncomfortable metal table & chairs. I would say that the property is especially not suitable for holidaymakers with dogs. We were also disappointed that we humans didn't have direct access to a garden for ourselves. The advert should be making the access issue clear as it is very misleading. I will not book with the company again, as I found the customer service response appalling when they had clearly not made any effort to change the description following Jan's review. Indeed on checking today I see that still no effort has been made to alert prospective holidaymakers to the access issue, so not allowing people to make their own minds up as to whether it would be a problem for them. In the end we left a day early too. Hide

After so looking forward to staying in the Chapel we came home early due to the decor being scary. It was clean and warm but thats about it. The write up and photo's gave false information. To walk the dogs you risked you're own life. Driveway looks bigger but it's definitely not, I struggled to get our BMW In. Unfortunately it says' garden', butRead more it's so overgrown with a dirty pond you can't really get in. One door in and out no outer door directly to the garden. Certainly don't be booking to go back here. Hide
