Wonderfully located to explore the majestic Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this one-bedroom country cottage is a romantic retreat for two. The building was formerly the main signal box at Wymondham Train Station and dates to 1900. In 2000, it was moved to its present location within the grounds of the owners’ home and is now a place to immerse yourself in heritage and comfort, with Victorian-inspired interiors blended with contemporary living.
Eight wrought iron steps take you to the entrance of this beautifully unique property. Inside, an elegant open-plan living space awaits, reminiscent of vintage carriage interiors with windows on three sides affording wonderful views of the surrounding area. Sink into the comfortable seating and watch a film on the TV in the warmth of the wood burner-effect electric fire, before heading over to the kitchen area to whip up a meal for two – a dining table and chairs provide a great spot to dine. When night falls, descend to the lower ground floor to find the cosy cabin-style double bedroom, with an en-suite shower room. Outside, the courtyard and lawn are the cherry on top, perfect for BBQs and al fresco dining when not exploring all that the local area has to offer.
This lovely retreat is nestled just 7 miles from the grand Georgian market town of Holt, and 22 miles from the vibrant city of Norwich. For a beach day, take a trip to West and East Runton (14 and 15 miles respectively) and enjoy a stroll along golden sands, or visit Cromer Pier (16.5 miles) to purchase delicious local crab. For an unforgettable experience, jump aboard the Norfolk Steam Railway at Holt or Sheringham and enjoy the world's oldest broad-gauge railway, meandering through a pristine landscape. Catch sight of the famous seal colony at Blakeney Point (13 miles) or explore the history of Blickling Hall (11 miles) and Holkham Hall (15 miles).
