Ringstead is a hidden prize tucked slightly inland from the Royal Norfolk coast just waiting to be discovered. With houses in the village from the 16th Century and beyond, it is an attractive spot for a holiday. The 17th Century village pub serves delicious meals using local produce and the well-stocked village store is a true delight, showcasing local food and drink, an ale list of over 70 local brews and a complex of rooms and courtyards full of things old and new, which is a treasure hunter's delight! The village is next to Ringstead Downs, an attractive chalk grassland located in a deep set valley and The Peddars Way and Norfolk Costal Path are also within easy reach. The Ringstead Loop cycle route is part of the national cycle network, which passes through the village and runs for 23 miles if you have the legs for it! The wide beaches of the west coast are close by at Old Hunstanton, Holme-next-the-Sea and Brancaster and are great for family days out, rock pooling, sand kiting, wind surfing and some amazing sunsets. Thornham a popular coastal village is nearby with a deli/restaurant, several pubs, and Drove farm which has a farm shop and other retail outlets. The RSPB Bird Reserve at Titchwell is just a few miles up the coast and the elegant Georgian village of Burnham Market with its eclectic shops and galleries should not be missed. Holkham House with its deer park, great house and pinewood backed beach and the Royal Estate at Sandringham can also be found in this delightful corner of Norfolk, which will draw you back time and again.
