Designed with wheelchair-friendly features throughout, this welcoming lodge sits within a spacious holiday park surrounded by countryside and boasts trails and walks from the doorstep. It’s just 3.5 miles from the historic harbour and market town of King’s Lynn and 16 miles from Snettisham’s shingle beach. Frequented by wading birds, which can be watched from the RSPB reserve nearby, this unspoilt beach is close to another local must-see, Norfolk Lavender at Heacham, 18 miles from your doorstep. A little further around the coast, the vibrant Victorian town of Hunstanton (20 miles) is famous for its stunning sunsets, striking striped cliffs, golden sands and Sea Life Centre. For a contrasting day out, the Sandringham Royal Estate (12.5 miles) has 20,000 acres of parkland and a fabulous children’s play area, both of which are open and free to visit all year round. Ensuring that everyone is included in the family fun, this fabulous holiday home has been specially designed to offer ultra-accessibility for wheelchair users, with a mobile hoist provided for use inside.
Park outside, follow the pathway straight to the entrance and inside the lodge, where you’ll find a welcoming open-plan living area boasting high ceilings and plenty of light. With underfloor heating for all-year comfort, quality time is the focus here – the contemporary kitchen has all the essentials for effortless self-catering and is complemented by a dining suite and a lounge with soft seating and a Smart TV so you can keep up with your viewing favourites. When it’s time to sleep, choose between a king-size bedroom complete with an en-suite shower room, or an accessible single bedroom with a fixed hoist and easy access to a specially adapted wet room. If you need further flexibility, the sofa bed in the lounge can also sleep up to two guests.
The covered veranda to one corner of your cabin is a peaceful spot for al fresco meals and refreshments. A short stroll away, there’s a large furnished patio outside the on-site coffee and juice bar; the nearby lake has log-carved tables, too. Enjoy walks at the water’s edge, explore the nature-rich trails that run throughout the park, or watch for wildlife as children let off steam in the playground. For those with energy to burn, the fully-equipped gym is open to guests aged 16 and over. There is parking next to the lodge for easy access, plus a tarmac pathway leading straight to the entrance to assist wheelchair users.
