A charming cottage located in the historic town of Little Walsingham, this property is ideal for a couple or family looking for a quiet country retreat. It is an ideal base for exploring the nearby Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with Holkham Beach just 8.5 miles away. This peaceful village boasts the shrine of the Lady of Walsingham as well as several outstanding buildings featuring medieval timber-framed architecture.

This characterful cottage has been lovingly designed around original features, such as exposed beams and cottage-style staircases, and there are some rooms with low headroom. It has been furnished with elegant, bright, and contemporary decor. On the ground floor, you will find a spacious kitchen and dining area equipped with everything you need to make meal preparation easy. The lounge is the perfect place to relax and catch up with your loved ones on the comfortable armchairs while you chat, play games, or watch your favourite series on the Smart TV. On chilly evenings, you can cosy up and put a log on the wood burner. The ground floor is completed by a shower room. From the living room, a staircase leads up to the first floor where you’ll find two bedrooms – one king-size and one twin – and a family bathroom. If you need a quiet place to use a computer, there is a desk and chair on the landing. Outside, you'll discover a patio with garden furniture and a shared garden to the front and a private garden to the side, both overlooking the River Stiffkey. Enjoy the sun and a few drinks, or dine alfresco in this idyllic setting.

Right on your doorstep is the station for the Wells to Walsingham narrow-gauge railway, a perfect day out for all the family. Within easy reach are several must-see places, including the popular harbour town of Wells-next-the-Sea with its famous colourful beach huts (6 miles), Blakeney Point, home to England's largest grey seal colony (8 miles), Holkham Hall Nature Reserve (7 miles), and the beautiful Georgian town of Holt (12 miles) with its many independent boutiques, art galleries and antique shops.

Beautiful well equipped cottage in an ideal setting so easy to visit other places on the North Norfolk Coast especially Wells Next The Sea and Holkham. Owners had thought of everything that you could possibly need even had a delivery of a corkscrew as people previously staying had accidentally taken the one from the cottage. Would highly recommend Read morea stay at St Francis Cottage. Oh and recommend a meal at the Black Lion too. Hide

Lovely cottage in a beautiful and historic setting.Sitting in the private garden listening to the river running by was so relaxing.St Francis cottage is well appointed and we wanted for nothing .We had plenty of information before we travelled from the owners. The only down side that we had was that there was no mobile signal for Vodafone for the wRead morehole week but in a way that was a blessing! We can't wait to return to Little Walsingham and refresh in the peaceful surroundings. Hide

St Francis is a delightful cottage and equipped far beyond expectations. Aside from the extraordinary location almost adjacent to the Walsingham shrine there are two of the finest houses in England within a few miles (Houghton and Holkham) and long beaches up the road. We were emailed by the owner a few days before arrival providing details of faciRead morelities and urging us to contact her directly in case of any problems during our stay. What a cheerful, well-equipped cottage. Spotlessly clean with everything you might need, (or have forgotten). On the edge of a lovely village with walks from the doorstep and a nice pub only a short walk away. The owner has thought of everything - a very generous host. We had slight concerns before we arrived about the proximity of the nearby road Read more(it looks quite a big road on the map) but we weren't disturbed at all. We had a wonderful family holiday staying in St Felix & St Francis. The decor, cleanliness and comfort make the well-appointed cottages a joy to come back to each day. There are masses of books, games, dvds and other welcoming surprises. St Francis is particularly spacious with a separate private garden leading down to a stream. This cottage was absolutely gorgeous. It was really well laid out and very well presented. It was clear that a lot of time and effort had been spent on it. It was very clean, too. We had a lovely week at St Francis over Easter. We were a 3 generation group and felt the cottage worked equally well for the young and elderly. My MIL has mobility issues but was able to manage the stairs up to the bedrooms without difficulty. She found the downstairs bathroom helpful and said the shower was easy to use.
