Escape the humdrum of everyday life in this beautiful cottage in the peaceful village of East Ruston. The property sleeps four guests and makes a lovely couples’ retreat or base for a small family. The cottage has a sociable, open-plan layout and a sunny patio overlooking a lake. It’s within easy reach of The Broads, with Stalham just 2 miles away and Wroxham just under 10 miles from the property. You can also enjoy trips to the seaside, with the golden sands of Sea Palling a mere 7 miles from the cottage.

This home-from-home is bright and airy with pretty soft furnishings and homely touches throughout. It has an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a large wooden table for enjoying family mealtimes together, and comfortable sofas arranged around a Smart TV. In summer, open the patio doors to let a gentle breeze flow through the cottage. Upstairs, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms – a king-size and a twin – along with the family bathroom. Outside, discover a south-facing patio, where you can sip a sundowner whilst admiring the local wildlife.

East Ruston is home to a stunning vicarage garden; with themed garden rooms and an array of exotic plants, this little slice of tranquillity is a must for horticulture enthusiasts or anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle for a couple of hours. The Weavers’ Way walking trail passes through the village, and you can follow it along a disused railway track for 2 miles to Stalham. The town is on the northern edge of The Broads, and is a hive of activity, with eateries, boatyards and a plethora of waterside tracks and trails to explore.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size and 1 twin
  • 1 bathroom with shower over the bath, and WC
  • Electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher
  • Highchair and travel cot available on request
  • Smart TV in the lounge
  • Courtyard area with seating, charcoal barbecue
  • Off-road parking for 2 cars
  • Beach 3.5 miles, shop 2.9 miles, and pub within 1 mile

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location and looking out on the lake was a real treat. The cottage was warm and comfortable, and stayed warm even when the daytime temperature dropped towards single figures with a night frost thrown in for good measure. It certainly completely met our needs.

Lovely property in a great location. It was comfortable, clean and very well stocked with all the equipment you could need - the owners had thought of everything. My two young boys really enjoyed fishing at the lake. The whole family agreed that we would be very happy to spend another holiday here. Thank you for a lovely week!

Really nice house - clean, well-equipped, comfortable and welcoming. The only downside is that the house becomes very hot in warm weather. If you are planning to travel to Norfolk in the summertime and you are a 'hot' person (and in particular if you are a hot sleeper) this may not be the house for you. That aside, I really can't fault this propertRead morey and would definitely recommend it. Hide

We had a very comfortable stay with our two young children. The main bedroom has a comfortable bed and enough room for the travel cot that is provided. There are a number of other handy items for a stay with kids including a high chair, stair gate and some crockery. The location is great for visiting the coast and is right on the weavers way walk. A very comfortable, cosy, warm and well equipped property, well located for touring the Broads. Not far from a supermarket, plenty of parking directly outside. The view of the lake and geese roaming, and other wildlife spotted add to the stay.
