Make yourselves at home in this delightful period cottage on the outskirts of Holt, one of North Norfolk’s many thriving market towns. The dog-friendly cottage is ideal for a couples’ or a family getaway and features a spacious lounge/diner, a shaker-style kitchen, and an enclosed garden. It also enjoys easy access to the Norfolk Coast National Landscape, so acts as an ideal base for twitchers, water sports lovers and walkers.
The single-storey cottage dates back to the 18th century and was originally part of the Holt Workhouse. It boasts a spacious and inviting interior, with original features including exposed walls and beams scattered around neatly furnished rooms. The lounge/diner features a vaulted ceiling, brick chimney stack and wood burner, as well as comfortable seating strategically spread around to make the most of the natural light pouring in through the surrounding windows. Like the lounge/diner, the shaker-style kitchen is decorated in soothing tones and has hard flooring. There are two cosy double bedrooms at the cottage. Both have plenty of storage space, with one dominated by a striking stone feature wall. A family bathroom stands close by. The enclosed garden outside is part-walled and south-west facing; it features a spacious lawn and a patio area with seating that overlooks a gravel driveway.
The centre of Holt (500 metres) is home to a thriving market square rich with Georgian architecture and dog-friendly eateries. Nearby Holt Country Park offers 100 acres of woodland walks and, like the Norfolk Coast Path (4 miles) is a real feast for the senses. The Norfolk Coast National Landscape is blessed with nature reserves including Blakeney (7.5 miles), and coastal towns including Wells-next-the-Sea and Sheringham (within 11.5 miles).
