For a tranquil getaway in one of Norfolk’s most beautiful villages this comfortable property makes a wonderful choice. Welcoming couples, friends or small families, it boasts two double bedrooms with en-suites, and is located within easy reach of lively towns, the beautiful coast and even a light railway.
A pretty mix of traditional features and old and new furniture gives this lovely property an interesting and welcoming ambience. In the lounge, a brick fireplace houses a wood-burner-effect electric fire – a warming spot after a day out at the coast – and there’s a TV for when you want to watch your favourite shows. The kitchen/diner has everything you’ll need for cooking hearty breakfasts and delicious suppers, including a dishwasher for cleaning up and plenty of storage space. Take the cottage-style stairs to the first-floor landing and there’s a fold-out single bed in case of additional guests, plus two compact double bedrooms, with areas of low, sloping ceiling. One has an en-suite bathroom and the other an en-suite shower room. To sit in the fresh air, or perhaps to enjoy a drink or a meal outside, there’s a shared garden with a huge lawn at the front of the property.
Walsingham is a peaceful village with plenty to explore, from cafes and art galleries to picturesque buildings that date back as far as the 14th and 15th centuries, as well as the ruins of two medieval monastic houses. Hop on the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway, 0.5 miles, for a scenic 6-mile trip to the lovely town of Wells-next-the-Sea, where you can spend time on the beach, go crabbing on the quay or buy some excellent fish and chips. Houghton Hall and the Sandringham Estate are both less than 20 miles away, and Fakenham is just 5.5 miles.
